5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your extractor hood.

5.1. Cleaning the Grease Filters

The hood is equipped with washable metallic grease filters (MIZ 0088) that collect cooking grease. These filters should be cleaned regularly, depending on usage, to prevent grease buildup and maintain extraction efficiency.

  • Removal: To remove the filters, locate the release latches and gently pull them down. The filters will detach.
  • Cleaning: The metallic grease filters are dishwasher safe. Alternatively, they can be washed by hand using hot water and a mild detergent. Ensure they are completely dry before reinstallation.
  • Reinstallation: Insert the dry filters back into their slots and push until the latches click into place.

5.2. Replacing Active Carbon Filters (Recirculation Mode Only)

These filters are not washable and must be replaced periodically (typically every 3-6 months, depending on usage). Refer to the specific instructions provided with the carbon filters for replacement procedures.

5.3. Exterior Cleaning

Clean the exterior surfaces of the hood with a soft cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaning agent. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive pads that could damage the finish.
