Setup

Battery Installation

The Magene S314 sensor uses a CR2032 battery. To install or replace the battery:

  1. Gently twist the back cover of the sensor counter-clockwise to open it.
  2. Insert the CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing upwards. Ensure any plastic insulator is removed if present.
  3. Align the cover and twist clockwise to securely close it.

Installation Modes

The S314 sensor supports two operating modes: Cadence mode and Speed mode. Only one mode can be active at a time. To obtain both speed and cadence data simultaneously, two sensors are required.

Cadence Sensor Mode Installation

To measure pedaling cadence, install the sensor on the left crank arm:

  1. Measure the left crank arm to ensure it meets installation requirements.
  2. Tighten the provided strap around the left crank arm.
  3. Attach the sensor to the strap's hook, ensuring it is securely fastened.

Speed Sensor Mode Installation

To measure wheel speed, install the sensor on the front wheel hub:

  1. Tighten the provided strap around the front wheel hub of the bicycle.
  2. Attach the sensor to the strap's hook, ensuring it is securely fastened.

*Note: An anti-skidding rubber pad may be used according to actual conditions for better stability.

Operation

Mode Switching via Magene Utility APP

The S314 sensor's operating mode (Speed or Cadence) can be easily switched using the Magene Utility APP, in addition to reinstalling the battery.

  1. Download and install the Magene Utility APP on your smartphone.
  2. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and the sensor is active (e.g., by rotating the wheel or crank).
  3. Open the Magene Utility APP and connect to your S314 sensor.
  4. Within the app's device settings, locate the option to switch between Speed and Cadence modes. Select your desired mode.
