Control Buttons:

  • WEEK: Selects the day(s) of the week for programming.
  • HOUR: Adjusts the hour setting.
  • MINUTE: Adjusts the minute setting.
  • RES/RCL: Resets or recalls programmed settings.
  • CLOCK: Enters clock setting mode.
  • TIMER: Enters program setting mode.
  • ON/AUTO/OFF RND/CTD: Cycles through ON, AUTO, OFF modes, and activates Random or Countdown functions.
  • RESET: Small recessed button to clear all settings (requires a pointed object).

5. Setup

5.1 Initial Charge & Reset

Before first use, plug the timer into a live outlet for at least 30 minutes to charge the internal battery. This battery retains your programmed settings during power outages. After charging, use a pointed object (like a pen tip) to press the recessed RESET button to clear any factory settings.

5.2 Setting the Current Time (Clock Mode)

  1. Press and hold the CLOCK button for 3 seconds until the display flashes.
  2. Use the WEEK button to select the current day of the week.
  3. Use the HOUR button to set the current hour (12/24-hour format can be toggled by pressing HOUR and MINUTE simultaneously).
  4. Use the MINUTE button to set the current minute.
  5. Press CLOCK again to confirm and exit clock setting mode.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Programming ON/OFF Times (Weekly Programs)

The timer supports up to 20 ON/OFF programs per day, allowing for flexible scheduling throughout the week.

  1. Press the TIMER button to enter program setting mode. The display will show '1 ON'.
  2. Use WEEK to select the day(s) for this program. You can choose individual days, weekdays, weekends, or all 7 days.
  3. Use HOUR and MINUTE to set the desired ON time.
  4. Press TIMER again. The display will show '1 OFF'.
  5. Use WEEK, HOUR, and MINUTE to set the desired OFF time.
  6. Repeat steps 1-5 for additional programs (up to 20).
  7. After setting all desired programs, press the CLOCK button to exit program mode.

6.2 Countdown Timer

The countdown function allows you to turn an appliance ON or OFF after a set period, from 1 second to 99 hours, 59 minutes, and 59 seconds.

  1. Press the ON/AUTO/OFF RND/CTD button repeatedly until 'CTD' appears on the display.
  2. Use HOUR, MINUTE, and RES/RCL (for seconds) to set the desired countdown duration.
  3. The timer will start counting down. Once the countdown finishes, the connected appliance will turn ON or OFF depending on its initial state.

6.3 Random Mode (Anti-Theft Function)

Activate the random mode to have your lights or other appliances turn ON/OFF at varying times, creating the illusion that someone is home, deterring potential intruders.

  1. Press the ON/AUTO/OFF RND/CTD button repeatedly until 'RND' appears on the display.
  2. The timer will now randomly turn the connected appliance ON and OFF within a 30-minute window of your programmed times.
  3. To deactivate, press the ON/AUTO/OFF RND/CTD button until 'RND' disappears.

6.4 Manual Override (ON/AUTO/OFF)

You can manually switch the timer between ON, AUTO, and OFF modes at any time without affecting your programmed settings.

  • Press the ON/AUTO/OFF RND/CTD button briefly to cycle through:
    • ON: The connected appliance will remain ON.
    • AUTO: The timer will follow your programmed ON/OFF schedules.
    • OFF: The connected appliance will remain OFF.

7. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Techbee timer, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:

  • Wipe the timer with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Keep the timer away from excessive heat, direct sunlight, and moisture.
  • Store in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Techbee timer, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible Solution
Timer display is blank or unresponsive.Ensure the timer is plugged into a live outlet. The internal battery may be fully discharged; allow it to charge for at least 30 minutes. Press the RESET button.
Programs are not activating.Check if the timer is in AUTO mode. Ensure the programmed ON/OFF times are correctly set and the current time is accurate. Verify the appliance connected to the timer is functional.
Appliance remains ON/OFF constantly.Check if the timer is in ON or OFF manual override mode. Switch it to AUTO mode.
Random mode or Countdown not working.Ensure the correct mode (RND or CTD) is selected on the display. Re-enter the settings for these functions.
Timer loses settings after power outage.The internal battery may not be sufficiently charged or may be at the end of its lifespan. Ensure the timer is regularly plugged in to keep the battery charged.
