3. Setup

Before First Use:

1. Unpack the toaster and remove all packaging materials.
2. Wipe the exterior of the toaster with a damp cloth. Ensure it is completely dry before use.
3. Insert the crumb tray correctly into its position at the bottom of the toaster.
4. Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. The cord can be neatly stashed underneath the toaster base when not in full use.
5. For the first use, operate the toaster without bread on the highest browning setting (6) in a well-ventilated area. This will burn off any manufacturing residues and eliminate odors. A slight smoke or odor may be present; this is normal.

4. Operating Instructions

Toasting Bread:

1. Place one or two slices of bread, bagels, or waffles into the toasting slots.
2. Select your desired browning level using the browning control dial (1 for light, 6 for dark).
3. Press the toast lever down until it locks into place. The indicator light for the selected function (if any) will illuminate.
4. The toaster will automatically raise the toast when the cycle is complete.

Special Functions:

• Cancel Button: Press this button at any time to stop the toasting cycle and eject the toast. The indicator light will turn off.
• Bagel Button: Ideal for bagels, this setting toasts the cut side while gently warming the other side. Insert the bagel with the cut side facing inwards. Press the toast lever down, then press the Bagel button. The Bagel indicator light will illuminate.
• Defrost Button: Use this setting to toast frozen bread. Place the frozen bread in the slots, press the toast lever down, then press the Defrost button. The Defrost indicator light will illuminate. This function adds extra time to the toasting cycle to thaw the bread before toasting.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your toaster.

Crumb Tray Cleaning:

1. Always unplug the toaster from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely.
2. Pull out the removable crumb tray located at the bottom of the toaster.
3. Discard accumulated crumbs.
4. Wipe the crumb tray with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly before reinserting.
5. Push the crumb tray back into place until it locks securely.

Exterior Cleaning:

• Ensure the toaster is unplugged and cool.
