3. Setup and Initial Use

3.1. Winding the Watch

As an automatic mechanical watch, it is powered by the motion of your wrist. For initial use or after a period of inactivity, manual winding is recommended to ensure accurate timekeeping.

  1. Manual Winding: Rotate the crown clockwise approximately 30-40 times while it is in its normal, pushed-in position. This will build up the power reserve.
  2. Automatic Winding: Wear the watch regularly. Normal daily activities will keep the mainspring wound. If the watch is not worn for an extended period (e.g., 24-48 hours), it may stop and require manual winding again.

3.2. Setting the Time

  1. Pull the crown out to the outermost position (usually the second click).
  2. Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute hands to the desired time.
  3. Once the time is set, push the crown back into its normal position to start the watch.

3.3. Adjusting the Strap

The watch comes with a strap adjustment tool. To adjust the tungsten steel strap, locate the pins on the inside of the links. Use the provided tool to push out the pins and remove links as necessary to achieve a comfortable fit. Ensure pins are securely reinserted after adjustment.

4. Operating the Watch

Your OLEVS watch is designed for reliable daily operation. The automatic movement ensures continuous timekeeping as long as it is worn regularly or manually wound.

  • Time Display: The watch displays hours, minutes, and seconds through its central hands.
  • Luminous Function: The hands are coated with a luminous material that absorbs light and glows in the dark, providing readability in low-light conditions. Exposure to bright light will enhance the glow.
  • Water Resistance: The 5ATM water resistance rating means the watch can withstand splashes, rain, and brief immersion. Do not operate the crown or push buttons while the watch is wet or submerged. Avoid hot water, steam, or prolonged exposure to water.

5. Maintenance and Care

Proper care will help maintain the appearance and functionality of your OLEVS watch for years to come.

  • Cleaning: Wipe the watch regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and smudges. For the metal strap, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying.
  • Avoid Chemicals: Do not expose the watch to harsh chemicals, solvents, or detergents, as these can damage the finish and seals.
  • Temperature Extremes: Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures (hot or cold) or sudden temperature changes, which can affect the movement and seals.
  • Magnetic Fields: Keep the watch away from strong magnetic fields (e.g., speakers, refrigerators, mobile phones), as magnetism can affect the accuracy of mechanical movements. If magnetized, the watch may run fast or slow and require demagnetization by a professional.
  • Water Resistance: While water-resistant, it is advisable to avoid prolonged submersion or activities like swimming and diving to preserve the integrity of the seals over time. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in before any contact with water.
  • Servicing: Mechanical watches benefit from periodic servicing (every 3-5 years) by a qualified watchmaker to ensure optimal performance and lubrication of the movement.
