1. Introduction
This user manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, setup, and maintenance of your Einhell TC-PG 65/E5 gasoline generator. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the generator to ensure proper use, prevent injury, and maximize the lifespan of your equipment. Keep this manual in a safe place for future reference.
The Einhell TC-PG 65/E5 is a powerful and robust 4-stroke gasoline generator designed to provide an independent power source for various applications, including construction sites, camping, workshops, and remote locations. It features low emissions compliant with Stage 5 standards, an automatic voltage regulation (AVR) function for stable power output, and safety features such as an oil shortage safety system and an overload circuit breaker.
2. Safety Instructions
WARNING: Failure to follow these safety instructions can result in serious injury, fire, or death. Always prioritize safety when operating the generator.
- Carbon Monoxide Hazard: Never operate the generator indoors or in enclosed spaces. Generators produce carbon monoxide, a colorless, odorless, and deadly gas. Ensure adequate ventilation and use a carbon monoxide detector.
- Fire Hazard: Gasoline is highly flammable. Refuel in a well-ventilated area with the engine off and cool. Do not smoke or use open flames near the generator. Store fuel in approved containers away from heat sources.
- Electrical Shock Hazard: Do not operate the generator in wet conditions. Ensure all electrical connections are secure and properly grounded. Never touch live electrical components.
- Hot Surfaces: The engine and muffler become very hot during operation and remain hot for some time after shutdown. Avoid contact to prevent burns.
- Moving Parts: Keep hands, feet, and clothing away from moving parts of the engine and generator.
- Children and Pets: Keep children and pets away from the generator at all times.
- Overload Protection: Do not overload the generator. The integrated overload circuit breaker will trip if the load exceeds the generator's capacity.
- Oil Level: Always check the engine oil level before each use. The oil shortage safety system will shut down the engine if the oil level is too low.

- Unpacking: Carefully remove the generator and all included components from the packaging. Check for any shipping damage.
- Wheel and Handle Assembly (if required): Attach the wheels and foldable handle according to the assembly instructions provided in the separate assembly guide (if applicable).
- Add Engine Oil:
- Locate the oil filler cap/dipstick.
- Using the provided funnel, add the recommended engine oil (refer to specifications for type and quantity) until the oil level reaches the upper mark on the dipstick. Do not overfill.
- Securely replace the oil filler cap.
- Add Fuel:
- Ensure the engine is off and cool.
- Open the fuel tank cap.
- Carefully pour Super E5 gasoline into the fuel tank, using a funnel to prevent spills. Do not fill above the maximum level indicator.
- Securely close the fuel tank cap. Wipe up any spilled fuel immediately.
- Connect Battery: Connect the included starter battery to the generator's electric start system. Ensure correct polarity (+ to + and - to -).
- Grounding: Connect a grounding wire from the generator's grounding terminal to an appropriate ground source, as per local electrical codes.
5. Operation
5.1 Starting the Generator
- Ensure all connected appliances are turned off or disconnected from the generator outlets.
- Turn the fuel valve to the "ON" position.
- Move the choke lever to the "CHOKE" position (for cold starts).
- Insert the key into the ignition switch and turn it to the "START" position. Release the key once the engine starts.
- Once the engine has started and warmed up for a few seconds, gradually move the choke lever to the "RUN" position.
- Allow the generator to run for a few minutes to stabilize before connecting electrical loads.
5.2 Connecting Electrical Loads
- Connect your appliances to the appropriate 230 V or 400 V outlets.
- Ensure the total wattage of connected appliances does not exceed the generator's continuous power rating for the respective outlets.
- The AVR function ensures stable voltage output, protecting sensitive electronics.
- If the generator is overloaded, the overload circuit breaker will trip, cutting power. Reduce the load and reset the breaker.
5.3 Stopping the Generator
- Turn off and disconnect all electrical loads from the generator.
- Allow the generator to run for a few minutes without load to cool down.
- Turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position.
- Turn the fuel valve to the "OFF" position.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and reliable operation of your generator. Always perform maintenance with the engine off and cool, and disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting.
6.1 Daily/Before Each Use:
- Check engine oil level and top up if necessary.
- Check fuel level and refill if necessary.
- Inspect the generator for any visible damage, loose connections, or fuel/oil leaks.
6.2 Every 25 Hours or Monthly:
- Clean the air filter. Replace if heavily soiled or damaged.
- Check spark plug condition and clean or replace as needed.
6.3 Every 100 Hours or Annually:
- Change engine oil.
- Inspect fuel filter and replace if necessary.
- Check valve clearance (recommended to be performed by a qualified technician).
6.4 Storage:
- For extended storage, drain the fuel tank and carburetor to prevent fuel degradation.
- Change the engine oil.
- Remove the spark plug and pour a small amount of engine oil into the cylinder. Pull the starter cord a few times to distribute the oil, then reinstall the spark plug.
- Clean the exterior of the generator.
- Store in a clean, dry, well-ventilated area.
