4. Installation and Setup
4.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove all packaging materials. Inspect the washing machine for any damage during transit. Keep packaging materials out of reach of children.
4.2 Removing Transport Bolts
Before first use, it is crucial to remove the transport bolts located at the rear of the machine. These bolts secure the drum during transport and must be removed to prevent severe vibration and damage during operation. Refer to the diagram in the quick start guide for their exact location.
4.3 Leveling the Appliance
Place the washing machine on a firm, level floor. Adjust the adjustable feet at the bottom of the machine until it is perfectly level and stable. Use a spirit level to ensure accuracy. An unlevel machine can cause excessive noise and vibration.
4.4 Water Connection
Connect the inlet hose to a cold water tap with a 3/4-inch thread. Ensure the connection is tight to prevent leaks. Position the drain hose into a standpipe or over the edge of a sink, ensuring it is securely fixed to prevent displacement during drainage.
4.5 Electrical Connection
Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the voltage and frequency match the specifications listed on the appliance's rating plate.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Preparing Laundry
- Sort laundry by fabric type, color, and degree of soiling.
- Check garment care labels for washing instructions.
- Empty pockets and close zippers and hooks to prevent damage to clothes and the drum.
5.2 Loading Laundry
Open the washing machine door and load the laundry loosely into the drum. Do not overload the machine; ensure there is enough space for clothes to tumble freely. The maximum capacity is 5 kg.
5.3 Adding Detergent and Additives
Pull out the detergent drawer. Add the appropriate amount of detergent to the main wash compartment and fabric softener to its designated compartment. Refer to detergent packaging for dosage recommendations.
5.4 Selecting a Wash Program
Turn the program selector knob to choose one of the 165 available wash programs. The electronic control system with LED indicators will display the selected program. Consider the fabric type and soiling level when making your selection.
5.5 Special Functions
- Eco-logic System: This system automatically detects the amount of laundry in the drum and adjusts the water consumption and cycle duration accordingly, ensuring an effective and environmentally friendly wash.
- Quick Wash (15 minutes): For lightly soiled items or when you need a fast wash, select the 15-minute quick program.
- Stop&Go Function: If you forget an item, press the Stop&Go button to pause the cycle, add the garment, and then resume the wash from where it left off.
5.6 Starting and Ending a Cycle
Press the Start/Pause button to begin the selected wash program. The machine will automatically proceed through the wash, rinse, and spin cycles. Once the program is complete, the machine will signal its finish. Open the door and remove your laundry promptly.
6. Maintenance and Cleaning
6.1 Exterior Cleaning
Wipe the exterior of the washing machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the surface.
6.2 Detergent Drawer Cleaning
Periodically remove the detergent drawer and rinse it under running water to remove any detergent residue. This prevents blockages and ensures proper dispensing.
6.3 Drum Cleaning
To prevent odors and maintain hygiene, run a maintenance wash cycle (e.g., a hot wash with no laundry and a washing machine cleaner) once a month.
6.4 Drain Filter Cleaning
Locate the drain filter, usually at the bottom front of the machine. Place a shallow container underneath to catch any water. Unscrew the filter slowly, allow water to drain, and remove any lint, coins, or debris. Clean the filter and screw it back in securely.
