Product Overview
Familiarize yourself with the main components and controls of your walkie talkie:

- Antenna: Integrated for signal transmission and reception.

Setup
Battery Installation:
- Carefully remove the battery cover on the back of the walkie talkie.
- Insert the 1500mAh Li-ion battery pack into the compartment, ensuring the contacts align correctly.
- Replace the battery cover, pressing firmly until it clicks into place.

Charging the Battery:
- Before first use, fully charge the walkie talkie.
- Connect the provided 2-in-1 USB charging cable to the USB charging port on the side of the walkie talkie.
- Plug the other end of the USB cable into a compatible USB power source (e.g., wall adapter, power bank, computer USB port).
- The LED indicator will show charging status (typically red while charging, green when fully charged).

Attaching the Belt Clip:
- Align the belt clip with the designated slots on the back of the walkie talkie.
- Slide the clip downwards until it securely locks into place.
- To remove, push the release tab and slide the clip upwards.

Attaching the Lanyard:
- Thread the lanyard through the small loop located at the top of the walkie talkie, near the antenna.
- Secure the lanyard by tying a knot or using the provided fastener.
Operating Instructions
Power On/Off and Volume Adjustment:
- To turn the walkie talkie ON, rotate the Power/Volume switch clockwise. You will hear a voice prompt indicating "Power On".
- To turn the walkie talkie OFF, rotate the Power/Volume switch counter-clockwise until it clicks.
- To adjust the volume, continue rotating the Power/Volume switch clockwise to increase volume or counter-clockwise to decrease volume.
Channel Selection:
- The BF-T20 has 16 pre-programmed channels.
- To change channels, short press the Channel Up (+) or Channel Down (-) buttons on the side of the unit. A voice prompt will announce the current channel number.
- Ensure all walkie talkies you wish to communicate with are set to the same channel.
Transmitting and Receiving (PTT Operation):
- To transmit, press and hold the PTT (Push-to-Talk) button on the side of the walkie talkie. Speak clearly into the microphone. The LED indicator will turn red while transmitting.
- To receive, release the PTT button. The LED indicator will turn green when a signal is being received.
- Only one person can transmit at a time on a given channel. Wait for the other party to finish speaking before pressing your PTT button.
VOX (Voice Operated Exchange) Hands-free Operation:
- The BF-T20 supports VOX function, allowing hands-free transmission when your voice is detected.
- To activate/deactivate VOX, refer to the detailed instructions in the included user manual or programming software (if applicable).
- When VOX is active, you do not need to press the PTT button to transmit.

Monitor Function:
- Long press the Channel Up (+) button to activate the Monitor function. This allows you to listen to weak signals on the current channel.
- Release the button to exit Monitor mode.
Scan Function:
- Long press the Channel Down (-) button to activate the Scan function. The radio will scan through all available channels to find active transmissions.
- Press any button (except PTT) to stop scanning.
Using Headphones/External Mic:
- Plug a compatible 3.5mm headphone or external microphone into the audio jack on the side of the unit.
- This allows for private listening and improved audio input in noisy environments.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the exterior of the walkie talkie. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Battery Care:
- To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.
- Store the walkie talkie and batteries in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.
- If the battery is not used for a long time, charge it periodically to maintain its capacity.
