Introduction
The RecPro Wacko RV AC Silencer Kit CA200 is designed to enhance the comfort of your recreational vehicle by reducing noise produced by the air conditioner and improving airflow efficiency. This kit features sound-dampening materials, a recycled cotton duct liner for superior thermal and acoustic performance, and an electrostatic air filter for air purification. Its non-porous 4-layer weave design ensures durability and easy maintenance.
This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your AC Silencer Kit.
Package Contents
Verify that all components are present before beginning installation:
- Electrostatic Filter
- Hardware Kit (screws, foil tape)
- Mounting Base
- White Cover
- Installation Manual (this document)
Setup and Installation
The RecPro Wacko RV AC Silencer Kit is designed for easy installation without drilling. Tools are not included.
1. Preparation
- Turn off Power: Ensure your RV's air conditioner power supply is completely turned off before starting any work.
- Remove Existing Cover: Carefully remove the existing RV AC unit's interior cover and air filter.
- Inspect AC Unit: Inspect the interior of your AC unit for any existing issues, such as gaps in the center divider or obstructions in the air ducts. Repair any issues found. Use the provided foil tape to seal any small gaps in the center divider to prevent air leakage between compartments.
2. Install Mounting Base
- Position Base Plate: The mounting base has an arrow indicating the direction it should face (towards the rear of the RV). Align the base plate with the existing screw holes in your AC unit.
- Secure Base Plate: Insert and partially tighten the four front screws. Fully tighten the two rear screws.
3. Install Electrostatic Filter
- Place Filter: Position the electrostatic filter over the partially tightened front screws on the mounting base. The filter is rigid and designed to fit snugly.
- Secure Filter: Slide the filter into place, ensuring the holes align with the screws. Finish tightening all four front screws to secure the filter and base plate.
4. Install White Cover
- Align Cover: The white cover also has an arrow indicating the direction it should face (towards the rear of the RV). This ensures the sound-dampening material is correctly positioned over both compartments.
- Attach Cover: Carefully align the cover with the mounting base. It is designed for a snug fit.
- Final Securement: Insert and tighten the four screws on the sides of the cover to secure it in place.
Installation is now complete. Restore power to your RV AC unit.

Operating Instructions
The RecPro Wacko RV AC Silencer Kit operates passively by optimizing the airflow path and dampening sound. No specific operational controls are associated with the silencer kit itself. Continue to operate your RV air conditioner as per its manufacturer's instructions.
The silencer kit works to:
- Reduce noise levels from your RV air conditioner (typically 3dB to 6dB).
- Improve air distribution throughout your RV.
- Clean air using the electrostatic air filter.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your AC Silencer Kit:
- Electrostatic Filter Cleaning: The electrostatic air filter can be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner or removed and washed. Ensure the filter is completely dry before re-installing.
- Exterior Cleaning: Clean the outer casing of the silencer kit using a damp cloth or a gentle cleaner. Avoid abrasive cleaners that may damage the finish.
- Durability: The non-porous 4-layer weave design does not degrade over time, ensuring lasting performance.
