Setup and Assembly

Follow these steps to assemble your vacuum cleaner before first use.

1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
2. Attaching Wheels: Insert the large rear wheels and front casters into their designated slots on the base of the unit. Ensure they click securely into place for proper mobility.
3. Connecting Hose: Insert the flexible hose into the suction inlet on the front of the main unit. Twist clockwise to secure.
4. Attaching Extension Wands and Nozzles:
   • For floor cleaning, connect the two extension wands together, then attach them to the hose handle. Finally, attach the desired floor nozzle (Multi-Surface or Floor Brush/Squeegee) to the end of the extension wands.
   • For detailed cleaning, attach the crevice tool, round brush, or handheld shampoo nozzle directly to the hose handle.
5. Installing Filters:
   • For Dry Vacuuming: Ensure the washable cartridge filter is securely installed over the motor cage inside the tank. A collection bag can also be used for easier dust disposal.
   • For Wet Vacuuming / Shampooing: Remove the cartridge filter and install the foam wet filter over the motor cage. This prevents liquid from entering the motor.
6. Attaching Detergent Tank: For shampooing operations, attach the external detergent tank to the side of the main unit. Ensure it is properly seated and sealed.

Operating Modes

Your Vacmaster VK1323PFR 03 offers three primary operating modes: Dry Vacuuming, Wet Pick-up, and Shampooing. Select the appropriate mode using the controls on the unit and the remote-control handle.

• Dry Vacuuming: For collecting dry debris, dust, and dirt. Requires the washable cartridge filter and optional collection bag.
• Wet Pick-up: For vacuuming liquids or spills. Requires the foam wet filter.
• Shampooing: For deep cleaning carpets, rugs, and upholstery with cleaning solution. Requires the foam wet filter and the detergent tank filled with solution.

Operation

Dry Vacuuming

1. Ensure the washable cartridge filter is installed. A collection bag can be used for easier disposal of dry debris.
2. Attach the desired dry vacuuming nozzle (e.g., Multi-Surface Floor Nozzle) to the extension wands and hose.
3. Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet.
4. Press the "Vacuum Mode" button on the unit or the remote-control handle to start dry vacuuming.
5. Guide the nozzle over the surface to be cleaned.
6. When finished, press the "Vacuum Mode" button again to turn off the unit and unplug it.

Wet Pick-up

1. Remove the cartridge filter and any collection bag. Install the foam wet filter over the motor cage.
2. Attach the Floor Brush/Squeegee Nozzle or other appropriate wet pick-up attachment.
3. Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet.
4. Press the "Vacuum Mode" button to start the suction.
5. Carefully vacuum up liquids. Do not overfill the tank; monitor the liquid level.
6. When finished, turn off the unit and unplug it. Empty the dirty water tank immediately.

Shampooing / Carpet Cleaning

1. Ensure the foam wet filter is installed and the cartridge filter is removed.
2. Fill the external detergent tank with the recommended carpet cleaning solution and water mixture. Do not use foaming detergents.
3. Attach the Carpet Shampoo Nozzle or Handheld Shampoo Nozzle to the hose handle.
4. Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet.
5. Press the "Detergent Mode" button on the unit or remote-control handle to activate the spray function.
6. Press the "Vacuum Mode" button to activate suction.
7. Spray the solution onto the carpet or upholstery by pressing the trigger on the nozzle, then immediately vacuum it up. Work in small sections, overlapping slightly.
8. For heavily soiled areas, you may spray and let the solution sit for a few minutes before vacuuming.
9. After cleaning, run clean water through the system to rinse the hose and nozzles.
10. When finished, turn off both modes and unplug the unit. Empty and clean both tanks.

Maintenance

• Emptying and Cleaning Tanks: After each wet use, or when the dirty water tank is full, empty the tank and rinse it thoroughly with clean water. For shampooing, also rinse the detergent tank.

  • Washable Cartridge Filter (Dry Use): Tap off loose dirt. If heavily soiled, rinse under running water. Allow to air dry completely for at least 24 hours before re-installing.
  • Foam Wet Filter (Wet Use): Rinse under running water and allow to air dry completely before storing or re-using.
  • Exhaust Filter: Check periodically and replace if visibly dirty or if suction power decreases.
• Cleaning Hoses and Nozzles: Rinse hoses and nozzles with clean water after wet use to prevent clogs and odors.
• Cord Storage: Wrap the power cord neatly around the designated cord wraps on the unit for storage.
