1. Introduction

The Formuler Z10 is a powerful 4K Android 10 media streamer designed to deliver an exceptional home entertainment experience. With its dual-band 5G Wi-Fi, 2GB RAM, and 8GB ROM, it provides smooth streaming and quick access to your favorite content. This manual will guide you through the setup, operation, and maintenance of your Formuler Z10 device and its accessories.

2. What's Included

Please check the box contents to ensure all items are present:

3. Setup

3.1 Connecting the Device

  1. Connect to TV: Insert one end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI port on the Formuler Z10 and the other end into an available HDMI input on your television.
  2. Connect to Network:
    • Wired (LAN): Connect an Ethernet cable from your router or network switch to the LAN port on the Formuler Z10.
    • Wireless (Wi-Fi): The device supports Dual-Band 2x2 AC Wireless. You will configure Wi-Fi during the initial setup process.
  3. Connect Power: Plug the power adapter into the Power Input port on the Formuler Z10, then plug the adapter into a wall outlet.
  4. Connect USB Devices (Optional): You can connect USB storage devices or other peripherals to the USB 3.0 port.

3.2 Initial Power On and Configuration

  1. Turn on your television and select the correct HDMI input source.
  2. The Formuler Z10 will automatically power on and display the boot-up screen.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the initial setup, which typically includes:
    • Language selection
    • Network connection (Wi-Fi setup if not using Ethernet)
    • Google account sign-in (optional, but recommended for app access)
    • Date and time settings
  4. Once setup is complete, you will be taken to the Formuler Z10 home screen.

4. Operating

4.1 Using the IR Remote Control

The included IR Remote Control allows you to navigate the Formuler Z10 interface and control media playback. It also features learning capabilities for TV control.

  • Power Button (TV/STB): Press once to put the TV or STB (Set-Top Box) into standby mode. Press and hold for Learning mode.
  • TV Control (OK, Source, Vol-, Vol+): Buttons for controlling your television.
  • Number Pad (0-9): Direct channel number input.
  • Favorite/Groups: Show/set favorite channels or show channel/VOD categories.
  • Color Buttons: Hotkey functions, follow on-screen instructions.
  • Info: Press twice to show detailed information.
  • Guide: Show grid EPG (Electronic Program Guide).
  • Vol +/-: Adjust STB volume.
  • CH +/-: Change channels.
  • Navigation (Up/Down/Left/Right/OK): Move cursor, channel list navigation, select.
  • Back/Previous Menu: Go back to the previous menu.
  • Home: Show Main Menu.
  • Menu: Go to System Home screen.
  • Playback Controls (Play/Pause, Stop, Rewind, Fast Forward): Control media playback.
  • Record: Start recording.

4.2 Using the Air Remote Keyboard

The bonus Air Remote Keyboard provides a full QWERTY keyboard and air mouse functionality, making text input and navigation more convenient, especially for web browsing or app usage.

  • Connection: Plug the small USB dongle (often found in the remote's battery compartment) into an available USB port on the Formuler Z10. The remote should connect automatically.
  • Air Mouse: Activate the air mouse function (usually by pressing a dedicated mouse button or shaking the remote) and move the remote in the air to control the on-screen cursor.
  • Keyboard: Use the QWERTY keyboard for typing in search bars, passwords, or other text fields.
  • Backlight: The keyboard features backlighting for use in low-light conditions.

4.3 Basic Navigation

  • Use the directional pad on the remote to move between icons and options on the screen.
  • Press the OK button to select an item or confirm an action.
  • Press the Back button to return to the previous screen or exit an application.
  • Press the Home button to return to the main home screen at any time.

4.4 Media Playback

  • Access streaming apps (e.g., YouTube, Netflix) from the home screen or app drawer.
  • Navigate within the app to select content.
  • Use the dedicated playback control buttons on the remote (Play/Pause, Stop, Rewind, Fast Forward) to manage media.
  • For local media, use a file manager app to browse content on connected USB drives.

4.5 Magnetic Car Mount

The extra magnetic car mount is designed to securely hold your smartphone or other small devices in your vehicle. It typically attaches to an air vent or dashboard and uses a magnetic plate (often adhered to your device or its case) for quick attachment and detachment.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 Common Issues and Solutions

  • No Power:
    • Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to the device and a working power outlet.
    • Check if the power outlet is active.
  • No Picture on TV:
    • Verify the HDMI cable is securely connected to both the Formuler Z10 and the TV.
    • Ensure your TV is set to the correct HDMI input source.
    • Try a different HDMI port on your TV or a different HDMI cable.
  • Remote Control Not Responding:
    • Check and replace the batteries in the remote control.
    • Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the Formuler Z10.
    • For the Air Remote Keyboard, ensure the USB dongle is properly inserted into the Formuler Z10.
  • No Internet Connection:
    • Wired: Check the Ethernet cable connection to both the device and your router. Verify your router is working correctly.
    • Wireless: Go to Settings > Network & Internet on the Formuler Z10 and ensure Wi-Fi is enabled and connected to the correct network. Re-enter the Wi-Fi password if necessary.
    • Restart your router and the Formuler Z10.
  • Apps Crashing or Freezing:
    • Close and reopen the app.
    • Clear the app's cache (Settings > Apps > [App Name] > Clear Cache).
    • Ensure the Formuler Z10's firmware and apps are up to date.
    • If issues persist, consider a factory reset (Settings > System > Reset options > Erase all data (factory reset)). Note: This will erase all data and settings.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the device is placed in a well-ventilated area to prevent overheating. Do not block the ventilation holes.
  • Software Updates: Regularly check for and install software updates to ensure optimal performance and security. You can usually find this option in the System Settings.
