Setup and Installation

Proper setup is crucial for the performance and safety of your drum sander. Follow these steps carefully.

Attaching Thickness Scale

  1. Remove the screw and washer (A) as shown in Figure 12. Note that the thickness scale is indicated as (B) in Figure 12.
  2. Place the thickness scale (B), as depicted in Figure 13, over the designated hole and then re-insert and tighten the screw and washer (A).
  3. Loosen screw (C) in Figure 14, and position the pointer against the scale (B) in Figure 14. Once aligned, tighten screw (C). IMPORTANT: For fine-tuning and adjustment of the scale, refer to the "CHECKING AND ADJUSTING TABLE HEIGHT" section later in this manual.

Connecting Feed Motor to Feed/Speed Switch Assembly

WARNING: The table feed motor (A) in Figure 15 is located on the side of the feed table (B). Before connecting the feed motor to the feed-speed switch, BE CERTAIN THAT THE MACHINE IS DISCONNECTED FROM THE MAIN POWER SOURCE.

  1. Insert the pronged motor plug (C), as shown in Figure 15, into the female connector (D) of the feed/speed switch assembly. NOTE: The connector is polarized and will only fit one way.
  2. Figure 16 illustrates the DC power cord fully connected to the feed/speed switch assembly.
