4. Setup and Installation

4.1 Installing the Transmitter (Doorbell Button)

  1. Choose a Location: Select a flat, vertical surface near your entrance. Ensure the surface is clean and dry.
  2. Battery Installation: The transmitter requires a battery (type not specified, typically a 23A 12V or CR2032 coin cell). Open the transmitter casing (usually by prying gently with a small screwdriver) and insert the battery, observing polarity. Close the casing securely.
  3. Mounting Options:
    • Adhesive Mounting:
      1. Clean the mounting area thoroughly with a damp cloth and let it dry completely.
      2. Peel off the protective film from one side of the double-sided adhesive tape and attach it to the back of the transmitter.
      3. Peel off the remaining protective film and firmly press the transmitter onto the desired surface for at least 30 seconds.
    • Screw Mounting:
      1. Open the transmitter casing to access the screw holes.
      2. Mark the positions for drilling on the wall using the transmitter's screw holes as a template.
      3. Drill pilot holes and insert wall anchors if necessary.
      4. Secure the transmitter base to the wall with the provided screws.
      5. Reattach the front cover of the transmitter.

4.2 Installing the Receivers

  1. Plug In: Insert each receiver into a standard electrical outlet in your desired locations. Ensure they are within the wireless range of the transmitter.
  2. Placement: For optimal performance, avoid placing receivers near large metal objects, thick walls, or other electronic devices that may cause interference.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Pairing the Transmitter and Receiver (If needed)

The system is typically pre-paired at the factory. If pairing is lost or you add new components:

  1. Plug in the receiver.
  2. Press and hold the receiver's Volume Button for approximately 5 seconds until the LED indicator flashes rapidly.
  3. Immediately press the transmitter button. The receiver will chime, indicating successful pairing.
  4. Repeat for additional receivers or transmitters.

5.2 Changing Chimes

Press the Chime Selection Button on the side of the receiver to cycle through the 60 available melodies. Stop pressing when you hear your desired chime. The system will automatically save your selection.

5.3 Adjusting Volume

Press the Volume Button on the side of the receiver to cycle through the 5 volume levels (0dB to 120dB). The lowest setting (0dB) is a mute mode with only LED flash notification.

5.4 Selecting Operating Modes

The VOXON doorbell offers three operating modes:

  • LED + Ringtone: Both the audible chime and the LED flash activate when the doorbell is pressed.
  • Silent Mode (LED Only): Only the LED indicator flashes, providing a visual alert without an audible chime. Ideal for sleeping babies or quiet environments.
  • Ringtone Only: Only the audible chime activates.

To switch between modes, press the Mode Button (or a dedicated button if available, otherwise it might be combined with volume/chime button, assuming a separate one for clarity based on image). The receiver will indicate the current mode.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

Wipe the doorbell transmitter and receivers with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the finish or internal components.

6.2 Transmitter Battery Replacement

If the transmitter's LED indicator does not light up when pressed, or if the signal range decreases significantly, the battery may need replacement. Open the transmitter casing, remove the old battery, and insert a new one of the same type, ensuring correct polarity. Dispose of old batteries responsibly.

6.3 Weather Resistance

The transmitter is IP65 rated, meaning it is protected against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction. While durable, avoid submerging the unit in water or exposing it to extreme impacts.
