1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your ChipPower GS2 Performance Tuning Box. The GS2 tuning box is designed to optimize engine performance, offering increased power and torque, improved fuel economy, and reduced turbo lag for compatible vehicles. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and use to ensure proper function and safety.

2. Safety Information

The ChipPower GS2 tuning box is equipped with an engine protection function to safeguard your vehicle's engine. Installation of this device does not void your vehicle's warranty, and removal of the device restores the car to its factory settings. Always ensure the vehicle's engine is off and cool before beginning any installation procedures. If you are unsure about any step, consult a qualified mechanic.

4. Setup and Installation

The ChipPower GS2 is a Plug&Drive device designed for quick installation, typically within 10 minutes, without requiring specialized tools or professional assistance. The installation involves connecting the chip box to a specific car sensor (MAP, MAF, or IAT) using the provided dedicated cable.

4.1. Pre-Installation Steps

  1. Ensure the vehicle's engine is turned off and the ignition is completely disengaged.
  2. Allow the engine to cool down if it has been recently operated.
  3. Locate the appropriate sensor in your vehicle's engine bay. This will typically be the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure), MAF (Mass Air Flow), or IAT (Intake Air Temperature) sensor, depending on your car's specific configuration. Refer to your vehicle's service manual if you are unsure.

4.2. Connecting the Chip Box

  1. Disconnect the original connector from the identified sensor (MAP, MAF, or IAT).
  2. Connect one end of the dedicated ChipPower connection cable to the vehicle's sensor.
  3. Connect the other end of the dedicated ChipPower connection cable to the original connector that was removed from the sensor.
  4. Connect the main connector of the ChipPower GS2 tuning box to the dedicated connection cable. Ensure all connections are secure and click into place.

4.3. Securing the Device

Once connected, position the ChipPower GS2 tuning box in a secure location within the engine bay, away from excessive heat or moving parts. Use the provided zip ties to neatly secure the device and its cables, preventing any interference with other engine components.

4.4. Adjustment (Optional)

The GS2 tuning box may feature an adjustment screw for fine-tuning performance. If present, this allows for minor adjustments to optimize the effect based on your driving preferences. Refer to the online instructions (via QR code in the package) for specific adjustment procedures if desired.

5. Operating Instructions

Once installed, the ChipPower GS2 tuning box operates automatically. It modifies signals between the engine control unit (ECU) and the sensors to optimize engine parameters. This results in:

  • Increased Power and Torque: Experience enhanced acceleration and overall engine responsiveness.
  • Improved Fuel Economy: The optimized engine parameters can lead to more efficient fuel consumption.
  • Reduced Turbo Lag: For turbocharged engines, the device helps minimize the delay in power delivery.

The device is compatible with DPF/GPF systems and works with both key and keyless car starter systems. It is also suitable for all types of gearboxes.

6. Maintenance

The ChipPower GS2 Performance Tuning Box is designed to be maintenance-free. No regular servicing or adjustments are required after initial installation, unless you choose to fine-tune the performance using the adjustment screw (refer to Section 4.4).

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues after installing the ChipPower GS2 tuning box, consider the following:

  • No noticeable change in performance: Double-check all connections to ensure they are secure and properly seated. Verify that the tuning box is correctly connected to the designated sensor (MAP, MAF, or IAT).
  • Engine warning light: If an engine warning light appears, immediately disconnect the ChipPower GS2 tuning box and reconnect the original sensor connector. If the light persists, consult a qualified mechanic.
  • Difficulty with installation: Review the installation steps carefully. Online instructions with more detailed visuals may be available via the QR code provided in your package.
