Periodically check for firmware updates for your NVR and connected cameras. Firmware updates often include performance improvements, bug fixes, and new features. Updates can typically be performed through the NVR's system menu or via the Lorex Home app.
4.3 Cleaning
To clean the NVR unit, use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol sprays, as they may damage the internal components. Ensure the NVR is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.
5. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No video output on monitor. | Loose HDMI/VGA cable, incorrect input selected on monitor, NVR not powered on. | Check cable connections. Ensure monitor is set to the correct input source (HDMI/VGA). Verify NVR power indicator is on. |
| Cameras not displaying. | Loose camera cable, camera not powered, network issue (for Wi-Fi cameras), incorrect camera settings. | Check PoE cable connections for wired cameras. Ensure Wi-Fi cameras are connected to your network. Restart NVR and cameras. Verify camera settings in NVR interface. |
| Cannot access NVR remotely via app. | NVR not connected to internet, incorrect network settings, app login issues. | Ensure NVR has an active internet connection. Check network settings on NVR. Verify app login credentials. Restart router and NVR. |
| No recording or missing footage. | Hard drive full, hard drive error, recording schedule not configured, motion detection not enabled. | Check hard drive status and capacity. Format hard drive if necessary (this will erase data). Verify recording schedules and motion detection settings for each camera. |
