5. Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to set up your ShuOne Wireless HDMI Extender system.
5.1 Connecting the Transmitter (TX)
- Connect one end of an HDMI cable to the HDMI output of your source device (e.g., set-top box, DVR, laptop).
- Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI IN port on the ShuOne TX unit.
- If you wish to have a local display, connect an HDMI cable from the LOOP OUT port on the TX unit to an HDMI input on your local display.
- Connect the IR Blaster cable to the IR port on the TX unit and position the IR emitter near the IR sensor of your source device.
- Connect the DC 12V power adapter to the DC 12V port on the TX unit and plug it into a power outlet. The POWER indicator will light up.
5.2 Connecting the Receiver (RX)
- Connect one end of an HDMI cable to the HDMI OUT port on the ShuOne RX unit.
- Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to an HDMI input on your display device (e.g., TV, projector, monitor).
- Connect the IR Receiver cable to the IR port on the RX unit and position the IR receiver in a location where it can receive signals from your remote control.
- Connect the DC 12V power adapter to the DC 12V port on the RX unit and plug it into a power outlet. The POWER indicator will light up.
- Repeat for additional RX units (up to 3).
5.3 Pairing Process
The TX and RX units included in this combination product are pre-paired at the factory. They should connect automatically upon power-up.
If you purchase a separate RX unit, it will need to be paired manually. Refer to the video pairing tutorial provided by ShuOne for detailed instructions. The process typically involves pressing a reset or pairing button on both the TX and new RX units within a specific timeframe.

Image: A diagram illustrating the connection setup. An HDMI source (Computer/PC, Set Top Box, Blu-Ray DVD, Video source) connects to the Transmitter (TX) via HDMI IN. The TX has an HDMI Local Loop-out to an HDTV. The TX wirelessly transmits to the Receiver (RX), which connects to an HDTV, Projector, or Monitor via HDMI OUT. An IR remote is shown interacting with the RX.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Basic Operation
- Ensure all connections are secure and both TX and RX units are powered on.
- Select the correct HDMI input on your display device connected to the RX unit.
- The video signal from your source device should now be displayed wirelessly on your connected screen(s).
6.2 IR Remote Control Functionality
The system supports IR return, allowing you to control your source device remotely from the location of your display.
- Point your source device's remote control at the IR Receiver cable connected to the RX unit.
- The signal will be transmitted wirelessly back to the TX unit, and the IR Blaster cable will relay the command to your source device.

Image: Two scenarios demonstrating IR remote control. In a living room, a user controls a device connected to the TX from a TV connected to an RX. In a bedroom, a user controls a device connected to the TX from a TV connected to another RX.
6.3 Multi-Receiver Setup (1 TX to 3 RXs)
This system supports one transmitter broadcasting to up to three receivers simultaneously. The effective transmission distance may decrease as more receivers are added.

Image: An overhead view of a house layout showing a single Transmitter (TX) wirelessly connected to four Receiver (RX) units in different rooms. Text indicates approximate transmission distances: 1TX to 1RX: 200m, 1TX to 2RX: 60m, 1TX to 3RX: 40m, 1TX to 4RX: 30m. A note clarifies that distances vary based on environment, and obstacles like walls can shorten signal coverage.
7. Troubleshooting
- No Signal/Black Screen:
- Ensure all power adapters are securely connected and devices are powered on.
- Verify HDMI cables are correctly connected to both TX and RX units and display.
- Check that your display is set to the correct HDMI input.
- Try restarting both the TX and RX units.
- Reduce the distance between TX and RX units, or remove obstacles.
- Poor Picture Quality/Flickering:
- Ensure TX and RX units are within effective range and have a clear line of sight.
- Minimize interference from other wireless devices (e.g., Wi-Fi routers, microwaves).
- Check the quality of your HDMI cables.
- IR Remote Control Not Working:
- Ensure the IR Blaster cable is correctly positioned near the source device's IR sensor.
- Ensure the IR Receiver cable is positioned to receive signals from your remote.
- Check remote control batteries.
- New RX Unit Not Pairing:
- Follow the specific pairing instructions or video tutorial for adding new receivers.
- Ensure both TX and the new RX are powered on during the pairing process.
