- Platter Installation: Carefully place the main platter onto the spindle.

- Felt Mat: Place the felt mat on top of the platter.
- Dust Cover: Attach the dust cover to the hinges at the rear of the plinth.

4.3 Connecting to an Audio System
Connect the supplied RCA cable from the turntable's output to the appropriate input on your amplifier or receiver. If your amplifier does not have a dedicated 'Phono' input, you will need an external phono preamplifier.
4.4 Power Connection
Connect the universal power supply to the turntable's power input and then plug it into a suitable wall outlet.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Powering On/Off
The turntable is powered on when connected to the mains. There is no separate power switch. The motor starts when you select a speed.
5.2 Speed Selection
The Pro-Ject E1 features an electronic speed switch. Use the switch located on the plinth to select between 33 RPM and 45 RPM, depending on the record you are playing.
5.3 Playing a Record
- Place a record on the platter.
- Select the correct playback speed (33 or 45 RPM) using the electronic speed switch.
- Lift the tonearm using the cueing lever.
- Carefully position the stylus over the desired starting groove of the record.
- Lower the tonearm gently using the cueing lever. The stylus will descend onto the record, and playback will begin.

5.4 Stopping Playback
- Lift the tonearm using the cueing lever.
- Return the tonearm to its rest.
- Remove the record from the platter.
- Close the dust cover to protect the turntable.
5.5 Dust Cover Usage
The acrylic dust cover protects your turntable from dust and debris. It can be opened and closed using the adjustable hinges. For optimal sound quality, it is recommended to play records with the dust cover open or removed.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning the Turntable
Regularly clean the turntable with a soft, dry, anti-static cloth. Avoid using cleaning sprays or solvents, as they may damage the finish. For the dust cover, use a soft, lint-free cloth and a mild acrylic cleaner if necessary.
6.2 Stylus Care
The stylus is a delicate component. Use a soft stylus brush to gently clean the stylus tip from back to front. Never use your fingers or harsh chemicals. A dirty or worn stylus can damage your records and degrade sound quality. Replace the stylus when it shows signs of wear.

7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Pro-Ject E1 turntable, consult the following common problems and solutions:
- No Power: Ensure the power supply is securely connected to both the turntable and the wall outlet.
- No Sound: Check all RCA cable connections between the turntable and your amplifier. Verify that the correct input is selected on your amplifier and that the volume is turned up. Confirm that your amplifier has a phono input or that an external phono preamplifier is in use.
- Skipping or Distortion: Ensure the turntable is on a stable, level surface. Check the stylus for dirt or damage. Verify that the record is clean and free of scratches.
- Incorrect Speed: Confirm that the electronic speed switch is set to the correct RPM (33 or 45) for the record being played.
