Setup and Installation

The Herdio ceiling speakers are designed for flush mounting in ceilings or walls. The wall-mounted amplifier provides convenient control and connectivity.

1. Speaker Placement

Plan the optimal placement for your four ceiling speakers to ensure balanced sound distribution in your desired area (e.g., living room, kitchen, office). Ensure there is sufficient clearance behind the mounting surface for the speaker depth.

2. Cutting the Mounting Holes

Using the provided template (if available, or refer to the cut-out diameter in specifications), carefully mark and cut circular holes in your ceiling or wall. The cut-out diameter is approximately 7.3 inches (18.5 cm).

3. Wiring the Speakers

Connect the speaker wires to the terminals on the back of each speaker. Ensure correct polarity (+ to + and - to -). Run the speaker wires through the ceiling/wall to the location of the wall mount amplifier.

4. Installing the Speakers

Insert each speaker into its respective mounting hole. The spring-loaded clips will secure the speaker in place. Ensure the speaker grille is flush with the ceiling/wall surface.

5. Installing the Wall Mount Amplifier

Install the HWA-16BT-US wall mount amplifier into a standard wall gang box. Connect the speaker wires to the amplifier's output terminals. Connect the power adapter (PWR-12V3A-US) to the DC 12V input on the amplifier and plug it into a power outlet.

The wall mount amplifier provides multiple input options and controls for your audio system.

1. Power On/Off and Volume Control

Rotate the large knob on the amplifier to turn the unit ON/OFF and adjust the master volume. The Power LED will illuminate when the unit is on.

2. Input Selection

Use the input selection switch to choose between Bluetooth (BT), AUX, or MIC input modes.

3. Bluetooth Connectivity

  1. Switch the input selector to "BT". The Bluetooth Signal LED will blink, indicating pairing mode.
  2. On your smart device (smartphone, tablet, PC), search for Bluetooth devices and select "Herdio" or "HWA-16BT".
  3. Once connected, the Bluetooth Signal LED will remain solid. You can now stream audio wirelessly. The wireless range is approximately 30+ feet (10 meters).

4. AUX Input

Connect an external audio device (e.g., MP3 player, TV) to the 3.5mm AUX IN jack using a standard audio cable. Switch the input selector to "AUX" to play audio from this source.

5. USB Input

Insert a USB flash drive into the USB port for media playback. This port also functions as a charging port (5V/1A) for your devices. Switch the input selector to "USB" to play audio from the USB drive.

6. Microphone Input

Connect a microphone to the 1/4" MIC IN jack for paging or announcements. Adjust the microphone volume as needed. This input is active when the input selector is set to MIC.
