1. Important Safety Information
Please read all instructions carefully before operating the Ozito VWD-1212 Wet and Dry Vacuum. Retain this manual for future reference.
- Always disconnect the power plug from the mains socket before cleaning or performing maintenance.
- Do not vacuum flammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or use in areas where they may be present.
- Do not vacuum hot ashes, broken glass, sharp objects, or any hazardous materials.
- Ensure all filters are correctly installed before operation.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction.
- Keep children and pets away from the vacuum cleaner during operation.
2. Product Overview

3. Setup and Assembly
Follow these steps for initial assembly and preparation for use.
3.1 Attaching the Castor Wheels:
- Turn the stainless steel tank upside down.
- Insert each castor wheel into the designated slots on the base of the tank until they click securely into place.
3.2 Filter Installation:
The type of filter required depends on whether you are performing wet or dry vacuuming.
For Dry Vacuuming:
- Ensure the foam filter is removed from the motor head.
- Place the cloth filter over the filter cage on the motor head, ensuring it covers the entire cage.
- Attach the paper dust bag to the inlet port inside the tank. Ensure the cardboard collar of the bag is securely fitted over the port.
For Wet Vacuuming:
- Remove the paper dust bag and cloth filter.
- Install the foam filter over the filter cage on the motor head. Ensure it is fully seated and covers the cage.
- Do not use the paper dust bag or cloth filter for wet vacuuming.
3.3 Assembling the Hose and Attachments:
- Insert the flexible hose into the suction inlet on the tank and twist clockwise to secure.
- Connect the extension tubes to the end of the flexible hose.
- Attach the desired nozzle (floor nozzle or crevice tool) to the end of the extension tubes.
4. Operating Instructions
This section details how to operate your vacuum for both dry and wet applications.
4.1 Dry Vacuuming:
- Ensure the cloth filter and paper dust bag are correctly installed (refer to Section 3.2).
- Plug the power cord into a suitable mains power outlet.
- Turn the vacuum on using the power switch located on the motor head.
- Move the floor nozzle or crevice tool over the area to be cleaned.
- When finished, turn off the vacuum and unplug it from the power outlet.

4.2 Wet Vacuuming:
- Ensure the foam filter is correctly installed and the dust bag/cloth filter are removed (refer to Section 3.2).
- Plug the power cord into a suitable mains power outlet.
- Turn the vacuum on using the power switch.
- Move the floor nozzle over the liquid spill. The vacuum will automatically shut off when the tank reaches its maximum liquid capacity.
- When finished, turn off the vacuum and unplug it. Empty the tank immediately after wet vacuuming.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your vacuum.
5.1 Emptying the Tank:
- Always unplug the vacuum before emptying.
- Unclip the motor head from the tank.
- Carefully lift the motor head off.
- Pour out any collected liquid or dispose of dry debris from the tank.
- Clean the inside of the tank with a damp cloth if necessary.
5.2 Filter Cleaning and Replacement:
Foam Filter (Wet Vacuuming):
- Rinse the foam filter with water after each wet use.
- Allow the filter to air dry completely before re-installing or storing.
- Replace if torn or damaged.
Cloth Filter (Dry Vacuuming):
- Shake off excess dust into a waste bin.
- The cloth filter can be gently hand-washed with mild soap and water.
- Allow to air dry completely before re-installing.
- Replace if suction power decreases significantly or if the filter is damaged.
Paper Dust Bag (Dry Vacuuming):
- Replace the paper dust bag when it is full or when suction power noticeably drops.
- These bags are disposable and not intended for cleaning.
5.3 General Cleaning:
- Wipe the exterior of the vacuum with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Check the hose and attachments for blockages regularly.
6. Troubleshooting
