1. Introduction

This user manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your REVODATA HD 5MP POE Mini IP Camera. This camera is designed for indoor surveillance, offering high-resolution video, flexible zoom capabilities, and remote viewing options. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the product to ensure proper setup and functionality.

2. Safety Information

  • This product utilizes Power over Ethernet (POE) and requires an external 802.3AF standard 48V POE switch for power supply. An auxiliary power interface is also available for non-POE 12V 2A power supply.
  • The camera's casing is compact, and it is normal for the device to generate heat during operation. This is a standard characteristic of IP cameras and does not indicate a malfunction.
  • Ensure the camera is installed in a stable location to prevent accidental falls.
  • Avoid exposing the camera to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct water contact.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the camera, as this will void the warranty and may cause damage.

5. Setup

Follow these steps for initial setup of your camera:

  1. Power Supply: This camera supports POE (Power over Ethernet). Connect the camera to an 802.3AF standard 48V POE switch using an Ethernet cable. Alternatively, if not using POE, connect a 12V 2A power adapter (not included) to the auxiliary DC power interface.
  2. Network Connection: Connect the camera to your network via the RJ45 Ethernet port. Ensure your network is configured to provide an IP address to the camera (DHCP is typically enabled by default).
  3. NVR Compatibility: The camera defaults to 5MP resolution and H.265 encoding. If your Network Video Recorder (NVR) does not support 5MP or H.265, you may need to adjust the camera's settings to 1080P (2MP) and H.264 encoding for compatibility. Refer to the 'Operating Instructions' section for details on changing these settings via the web interface.
  4. Mounting: Secure the camera using the provided screw set and adjustable mounting brackets. Choose a location that provides the desired field of view for surveillance.

6. Operating Instructions

Your REVODATA IP Camera offers various functionalities for effective surveillance:

6.1. Manual Zoom Lens Function

The camera features a 6-22mm manual zoom lens. To adjust the focus and zoom, rotate the lens rings until the desired clarity and field of view are achieved. A larger lens setting (e.g., 22mm) provides a further viewing distance, while a smaller setting (e.g., 6mm) offers a wider viewing angle for closer subjects.

6.2. P2P Remote Viewing

The camera supports P2P (Peer-to-Peer) cloud functionality, enabling remote viewing from your mobile phone or computer anytime, anywhere. This feature ensures you can monitor your premises even when away.

6.3. Motion Detection Alarm

The camera is equipped with motion detection capabilities. When human movement is detected, the camera can trigger an alarm message to be sent to your smartphone, providing real-time alerts for enhanced security.

6.4. H.265/H.264 Dual Encoding

The camera supports both H.265 and H.264 encoding formats. H.265 offers more efficient video compression, requiring approximately half the bandwidth and storage space compared to H.264 for the same video quality. This allows for longer recording times and reduced network load. Motion detection recording further optimizes storage by only capturing footage when activity is detected.

6.5. Day and Night Vision

The camera provides clear video footage in both daytime and nighttime conditions, ensuring continuous surveillance capability.

6.6. Connecting to Software, Browser, and Smartphone APP

The camera can be accessed and managed through various platforms:

  • VMS Software: Use the VMS software (available for Windows computers, not MAC OS or Linux) for comprehensive management and viewing.
  • Web Interface: Access the camera's settings and live view through a web browser (IE6.0 and above recommended) by entering the camera's IP address.
  • Linklemo APP: Download the "Linklemo" mobile application (for iOS and Android) for convenient remote viewing and control on your smartphone.

7. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your camera:

  • Regularly clean the lens with a soft, dry cloth to prevent dust and smudges from affecting image quality.
  • Keep the camera in a well-ventilated area to dissipate heat, especially during continuous operation.
  • Periodically check cable connections to ensure they are secure.
  • Update firmware when available to benefit from new features and security enhancements.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Camera feels hot: It is normal for the IP camera to generate heat, especially given its small casing. This is a standard operating characteristic and does not indicate a defect.
  • No image or poor image quality:
    • Check power supply: Ensure the camera is receiving adequate power from a compatible POE switch or 12V 2A adapter.
    • Network connection: Verify the Ethernet cable is securely connected and the network is functioning correctly.
    • Resolution/Encoding: If your NVR does not support 5MP or H.265, change the camera's resolution to 1080P (2MP) and encoding to H.264 via the web interface or VMS software.
    • Lens adjustment: Manually adjust the zoom and focus rings on the lens for a clear image.
  • Cannot connect to APP/Software:
    • Ensure the camera is connected to the same network as your viewing device (phone/computer).
    • Verify the camera's IP address is correct and accessible.
    • Check default login credentials (admin/admin for VMS, admin/123456 for web interface).
    • Ensure the correct application ("Linklemo" for mobile, VMS for Windows) is being used.
  • No Cloud Storage: This device does not support Cloud Storage. Do not purchase Cloud Storage from the "Linklemo" app.
