Setup Instructions
Before First Use:
- Unpack all components and remove any packaging materials.
- Clean the glass carafe, portafilter, and filter baskets with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
- Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth.
- Perform a trial run with water only to prime the system and remove any manufacturing residues. Fill the water tank, place the carafe, and run a brewing cycle without coffee.
Initial Setup:
- Place the espresso machine on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface.
- Ensure the control knob is in the "OFF" position.
- Open the water tank cap and fill the water tank with fresh, cold water up to the desired level (2-cup or 4-cup marking on the carafe). Securely close the water tank cap.
- Insert the appropriate filter basket (2-cup or 4-cup) into the portafilter.
- Add ground coffee to the filter basket using the scooper. For optimal extraction, use fine ground coffee.
- Use the tamper end of the scooper to firmly press the ground coffee.
- Attach the portafilter to the machine by aligning it with the unlock symbol and rotating it to the right until it locks into place.
- Place the glass carafe on the drip tray directly beneath the portafilter.

Operating Your Espresso Machine
Making Espresso:
- Ensure the machine is plugged into a 120V power outlet.
- Turn the control knob from "OFF" to the coffee cup symbol (Espresso Mode). The indicator light will illuminate.
- The machine will begin brewing espresso into the carafe. Brewing for 2-4 cups typically takes about 2 minutes.
- To pause brewing, turn the control knob to "PAUSE". To resume, turn it back to the coffee cup symbol.
- Once the desired amount of espresso is brewed, turn the control knob to "OFF".
- Carefully remove the carafe with the brewed espresso.

Figure 5: Fast Brewing Technology. The image shows the espresso machine actively brewing coffee, with text indicating 2-3 minutes for 4 cups of espresso.
Important: Turn the control knob to the "OFF" position to relieve pressure through the steam wand before removing the water tank cap or portafilter.
Frothing Milk (Steam Wand):
- Fill a pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy).
- Turn the control knob to the steam symbol (Steam Mode). The indicator light will illuminate.
- Wait for the machine to heat up and produce steam (approx. 40 seconds).
- Submerge the steam wand into the milk, just below the surface.
- Move the pitcher up and down gently to create microfoam. The steam wand rotates 180° for convenience.
- Once desired foam consistency and temperature (around 212°F) are reached, turn the control knob to "OFF".
- Immediately clean the steam wand by wiping it with a damp cloth and briefly releasing steam for 5 seconds to clear any milk residue.

- Clean the steam wand immediately after frothing milk to prevent milk residue from drying and clogging. Wipe with a damp cloth and briefly release steam.
- Empty and clean the drip tray. The drip tray is detachable for easy cleaning.
- Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scourers.

Descaling:
Regular descaling is crucial to maintain machine performance and extend its lifespan, especially in areas with hard water. Descale every 2-3 months or as needed.
- Prepare a descaling solution according to the descaler manufacturer's instructions (e.g., white vinegar and water, or a commercial descaling agent).
- Fill the water tank with the descaling solution.
- Place a large container under the portafilter and steam wand.
- Turn the control knob to the coffee cup symbol and allow half of the solution to run through.
- Turn the control knob to the steam symbol and allow the remaining solution to run through the steam wand.
- Turn the machine off and let it sit for 15-20 minutes.
- Rinse the water tank thoroughly and fill with fresh water. Run several cycles with fresh water to flush out any remaining descaling solution.
