6. Setup
After assembly, place the kitchen hutch on a flat, stable surface. Ensure the anti-tipping device is securely fastened to a wall stud to prevent accidental tipping. Position the cabinet in a location that allows for easy access to its doors and shelves.
7. Operating the Cabinet
Adjusting Shelves: To adjust the height of the movable shelves, first remove all items from the shelf. Then, lift the shelf to disengage it from the support pegs. Reposition the support pegs into the desired holes on the cabinet sides. Ensure all four pegs are fully inserted and level before placing the shelf back and loading items onto it.
Using Doors: The lower cabinet features double doors. Gently pull the handles to open the doors and push them firmly to close. Ensure no items obstruct the door's path when closing.
8. Maintenance
To maintain the appearance and longevity of your kitchen hutch:
- Cleaning: Wipe all surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or solvents, as these can damage the finish.
- Hardware Check: Periodically check all screws, bolts, and hinges for tightness. Re-tighten any loose hardware to ensure the cabinet remains stable and secure.
- Avoid Overloading: Do not exceed the specified weight capacity for shelves or the overall unit to prevent structural damage or tipping.
9. Troubleshooting
- Doors Not Aligning: If the cabinet doors do not align properly after assembly, adjust the hinges using a screwdriver. Refer to the detailed hinge adjustment procedures in your assembly guide. Minor adjustments can often correct alignment issues.
- Cabinet Instability: Ensure the anti-tipping device is correctly installed and securely fastened to a wall stud. Verify that the cabinet is placed on a level surface and that weight is distributed evenly to prevent wobbling.
- Missing or Damaged Parts: If any parts were missing from the package or arrived damaged, do not proceed with assembly. Contact HOMCOM customer support immediately for replacement parts.
