6. Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the power supply and all accessories from the packaging. Inspect for any signs of damage.
- Placement: Place the power supply on a stable, flat surface with adequate ventilation. Ensure the cooling fan at the rear is not obstructed.
- Voltage Selection: Before connecting the power cord, check the voltage selection switch on the rear panel. Set it to either 110V or 220V to match your local mains voltage. Incorrect voltage selection can damage the unit.
- Power Connection: Connect the provided power cord to the AC input on the rear panel and then plug it into a grounded wall outlet.
- Initial Power On: Turn on the main Power switch on the front panel. The LED displays should illuminate.
- Output Connection: Connect the test leads (crocodile clips to banana connectors) to the positive (red) and negative (black) output terminals. For safety, always connect the ground terminal (green) to the chassis ground of your setup if applicable.
7. Operating Instructions
Setting Voltage and Current
- Pre-setting Output: It is recommended to set the desired voltage and current limit before connecting the load.
- Ensure the ON/OFF switch for the DC output is in the OFF position.
- Adjust the V-COARSE and V-FINE knobs to set the desired output voltage. Observe the Voltage Display.
- Adjust the A-COARSE and A-FINE knobs to set the desired maximum current limit. This acts as a current protection threshold.
- Connecting Load: Connect your device or circuit to the output terminals using the test leads. Ensure correct polarity.
- Activating Output: Flip the ON/OFF switch to the ON position. The power supply will now deliver power to your load.
- Monitoring: Observe the Voltage, Current, and Power displays. The C.V. or C.C. indicator light will illuminate to show the operating mode.
- If the C.V. light is on, the power supply is maintaining the set voltage. The current drawn by the load is less than the set current limit.
- If the C.C. light is on, the power supply is maintaining the set current limit. This occurs when the load resistance is too low for the set voltage, causing the current to reach its limit. The output voltage will drop to maintain the current limit.
- Adjusting During Operation: You can fine-tune voltage and current during operation using the respective knobs. Be cautious when adjusting current limits with a connected load, as this can affect the voltage delivered if the unit is in C.C. mode.
- USB Output: The 5V/2A USB port provides a fixed output and operates independently of the main DC output settings.

8. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Disconnect the power supply from the mains before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Ventilation: Regularly check that the cooling fan and vents are free from dust and debris to ensure proper airflow.
- Fuse Replacement: If the unit does not power on, check the fuse located in the fuse holder on the rear panel. Replace it with a fuse of the same type and rating (refer to specifications).
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the power supply in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
9. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No power/display off | Power cord not connected; Main power switch off; Blown fuse; Incorrect input voltage selection. | Check power cord connection; Turn on main power switch; Replace fuse; Verify 110V/220V switch setting. |
| No output voltage/current | Output ON/OFF switch is OFF; Output terminals not connected correctly; Load is open circuit (for current); Load is short circuit (for voltage). | Turn output ON/OFF switch to ON; Check test lead connections; Ensure load is connected properly; Check for short circuits in the load. |
| Voltage drops significantly when load connected | Current limit set too low; Load requires more current than available. | Increase the current limit (A-COARSE/A-FINE knobs) to match or exceed the load's requirement. |
| Unit overheats / Fan constantly running loudly | Blocked ventilation; Excessive load for prolonged periods. | Ensure vents and fan are clear; Reduce load or allow unit to cool down. |
| Inaccurate readings | Calibration needed (unlikely for new unit); External interference. | If persistent, contact customer support. Ensure no strong electromagnetic interference nearby. |
