4. Installation

5. Operation
The Zanussi ZFP216S cooker hood features intuitive controls for easy operation.
5.1. Extending and Retracting the Hood
To activate the hood, gently pull the front panel outwards. To retract it, push the panel back into its housing. The hood will automatically turn off when fully retracted.
5.2. Control Panel

The front control panel allows you to adjust the extraction speed and lighting:
- Speed Buttons (1, 2, 3): Press the corresponding button to select the desired extraction speed.
- Speed 1: Low extraction, suitable for light cooking.
- Speed 2: Medium extraction, for general cooking.
- Speed 3: High extraction, for intense cooking or strong odors.
- Power Button (0|1): This button typically controls the main power to the fan. Press '1' to turn on, '0' to turn off.
- Light Button (Light Icon): Press this button to turn the LED lights on or off.

The integrated LED lights provide efficient illumination for your cooking surface. They can be operated independently of the extraction fan.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your cooker hood.
6.1. Cleaning the Grease Filters

The aluminum grease filters capture airborne grease particles. They should be cleaned regularly (approximately every 2-4 weeks, depending on usage) to maintain extraction efficiency and prevent fire hazards.
- Disconnect the appliance from the main power supply.
- Locate the filter release clips and carefully remove the aluminum filters.
- The filters are dishwasher-safe. Alternatively, wash them by hand using hot water and a mild detergent. Ensure they are completely dry before re-installing.
- Re-install the filters, ensuring they are securely clipped into place.
6.2. Cleaning the Exterior
Clean the stainless steel exterior with a soft cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner specifically designed for stainless steel. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive pads that could scratch the surface.
6.3. LED Light Replacement
LED lights are designed for long life and are generally not user-replaceable. If an LED light fails, contact qualified service personnel for assistance.
