  2. Locate the reset lever/button inside the lock box, typically on the back of the door mechanism.
  3. Push the reset lever from position A to B (or press the reset button as indicated in Figure 4.1).
  4. Rotate the dials to your desired 4-digit combination. Make sure the numbers are clearly aligned with the indicator marks.
  5. Return the reset lever from position B to A (or release the reset button).
  6. Scramble the dials to lock the box. Test your new combination to ensure it opens the box correctly before closing it completely.

5.2 Mounting the Lock Box

The AMMIY Key Lock Box can be wall-mounted for permanent installation. Choose a discreet and secure location.

  1. Step 1: Mark Position. Hold the lock box against the desired mounting surface. Use a pencil to mark the positions of the four screw holes on the back of the box.
  2. Step 2: Drill Holes. Using an appropriate drill bit for your wall material (e.g., masonry bit for concrete/brick, wood bit for wood), drill holes at the marked positions.
  3. Step 3: Insert Expansion Plugs. For concrete or brick walls, gently tap the expansion plugs into the drilled holes with a hammer until they are flush with the surface.
  4. Step 4: Install Box with Screws. Align the lock box with the drilled holes (and expansion plugs, if used). Insert the mounting screws through the lock box's holes and tighten them securely with a screwdriver. Ensure the box is firmly attached and does not wobble.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the lock box with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish.
  • Dials: Periodically check the combination dials for any dirt or debris that might hinder their movement. Use a soft brush or compressed air to clean them if necessary.
  • Lubrication: If the dials become stiff over time, a small amount of silicone-based lubricant can be applied to the moving parts, avoiding oil-based lubricants which can attract dust.
  • Inspection: Regularly inspect the lock box and its mounting for any signs of wear, damage, or loosening. Address any issues promptly to maintain security.

8. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Lock box will not open with the correct combination.Dials not perfectly aligned; debris in dials; combination was changed incorrectly.Ensure each number is precisely centered. Clean dials. If combination was recently changed, try the old combination or carefully re-enter the new one.
Dials are stiff or hard to turn.Dirt, dust, or grime accumulation; lack of lubrication.Clean the dials thoroughly with a soft brush or compressed air. Apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant if needed.
Lock box feels loose after mounting.Mounting screws are loose; improper installation for wall material.Tighten all mounting screws. If the issue persists, consider using stronger anchors or relocating to a more suitable mounting surface.
Forgotten combination.Combination lost or forgotten.Unfortunately, if the combination is forgotten and the box is closed, there is no master key or backdoor to open it. The only solution is to try all 10,000 combinations (which is time-consuming) or replace the unit. Always keep your combination in a secure, separate location.
