4. Setup and Installation

This section outlines the general steps for installing the LIFT-310 Lift Kit. Professional installation is recommended. Refer to your golf cart's service manual for specific torque specifications and additional disassembly/assembly procedures.

4.1 Pre-Installation Steps

  1. Park the golf cart on a firm, level surface.
  2. Engage the parking brake.
  3. Place wheel chocks behind the rear wheels.
  4. Loosen the lug nuts on the front wheels.
  5. Using a hydraulic jack, lift the front of the golf cart until the front wheels are off the ground.
  6. Place jack stands securely under the frame of the golf cart, ensuring stability.
  7. Remove the front wheels.

4.2 Front Lift Kit Installation

  1. Remove Existing Components: Carefully remove the existing front suspension components, including the original spindles, shock absorbers, and any associated hardware. Keep track of all removed parts for potential reinstallation or reference.
  2. Install Drop Spindles: Attach the new drop spindles to the existing steering and suspension points. Ensure proper orientation as per the kit's specific design.
  3. Install Mounting Plates: Secure the provided mounting plates to the appropriate locations on the axle and/or frame, as instructed by the kit's design. These plates typically provide the necessary offset for the lift.
  4. Secure with U-Bolts: Use the provided U-bolts, nuts, and washers to firmly secure the new components. Tighten all fasteners evenly and to the manufacturer's recommended torque specifications.
  5. Reinstall Shocks and Steering: Reattach the shock absorbers and steering linkage to the new drop spindles. Ensure all connections are secure and free of binding.
  6. Repeat for Other Side: Perform the same steps for the opposite side of the golf cart.

4.3 Post-Installation Checks

  1. Reinstall the front wheels and tighten lug nuts to specification.
  2. Remove jack stands and carefully lower the golf cart to the ground.
  3. Bounce the front of the golf cart several times to allow the suspension to settle.
  4. Re-check all nuts and bolts for proper tightness.
  5. Perform a front-end alignment. Lifting a golf cart significantly alters suspension geometry, requiring alignment to prevent premature tire wear and ensure proper handling.
