3.6 USB Type-C Input
The charger utilizes a USB Type-C input, supporting QC2.0/3.0 and PD fast charging protocols. It can also be powered by a laptop USB port for convenience.
3.7 Firmware Upgradability
The firmware can be updated via the USB-C interface when connected to a computer, ensuring access to the latest features and optimal performance.

4. Setup and Operation
4.1 Connecting the Charger
- Connect the provided USB-C cable to the charger's input port.
- Plug the other end of the USB-C cable into a compatible power adapter (18W or higher recommended) or a laptop USB port.
4.2 Inserting Batteries
Carefully insert rechargeable batteries into the appropriate slots, ensuring correct polarity. The charger's independent slots allow for simultaneous charging of different battery types and sizes.
4.3 Automatic Detection and Manual Settings
The C4 EVO is designed to automatically detect the chemistry of the inserted battery and set an appropriate charging current. However, for Ni-Zn/LiHV batteries, manual selection of the battery type is required. Users can also manually adjust charging current (up to 3.0A per horizontal slot, 1.5A per vertical slot) and stop voltage (up to 4.30V) for specific needs.
4.4 Understanding the Display
The LCD screen provides comprehensive real-time data:
- Cell Voltage and Charge Current
- Charged Capacity (mAh)
- Operation Timer
- Cell Temperature
- Internal Resistance (mΩ)
- Input Voltage and Power
4.5 Important Operating Note
Some heat buildup during fast charging is normal. To reduce battery temperature, you may lower the charging current to 0.6A or below. The default current setting is 1.5A.

6. Troubleshooting
6.1 Inaccurate Voltage Readings
While the C4 EVO provides detailed information, external measurements with a calibrated multimeter may show slight discrepancies. This is common across various chargers. For precise measurements, always refer to professional-grade testing equipment.
6.2 Limited Discharge Stop Voltage
The discharge stop voltage is limited to 2.90V. If you require discharging to lower voltages (e.g., 2.6V-2.7V for full capacity testing of some Li-ion cells), an alternative discharge method or device may be necessary.
6.3 Charger Not Powering On / Slow Charging
Ensure you are using an adequate power source. The charger requires a 36W Type-C input, and an 18W or higher fast-charging adapter is recommended for optimal performance. 5V2A power sources may result in slow charging or insufficient power for multiple batteries.
