3. Setup
3.1 Powering the Camera
The REVODATA I712-P camera supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) and an auxiliary DC power input.
- PoE Connection: Connect the camera to an 802.3af Standard 48V PoE Switch using a Cat5/6 Ethernet cable. This provides both power and data connectivity.
- Auxiliary Power: Alternatively, you can use a 12V/2A power adapter (not included) by connecting it to the auxiliary power connector.
Note:
- This product does not include a power unit.
- The camera may become warm during operation due to its compact size. This is normal and safe.
3.2 Physical Installation
The camera features a mounting bracket for flexible positioning. Use the provided screws to secure the camera in your desired indoor location, such as a garage, hallway, living room, or office. The camera is designed for ceiling mount applications.

3.3 Connecting to a Browser
To access the camera's web interface for configuration and live view:
- Ensure the camera is connected to your network via PoE or auxiliary power and Ethernet.
- Open a web browser (IE8.0+, Edge, Chrome, Firefox, Safari) on a computer connected to the same network.
- Enter the camera's default IP address (e.g.,
http://192.168.1.108) in the address bar. - Log in using the default username admin and password admin123. It is highly recommended to change the default password immediately after the first login for security.
Video 1: How to connect the camera. This video demonstrates the process of connecting the camera to a browser and logging into its web interface using default credentials, as well as connecting to a smartphone app and an NVR.
3.4 Connecting to a Smartphone (TSEYE App)
For remote viewing and control, use the "TSEYE" app available for iPhone and Android smartphones:
- Download and install the "TSEYE" app from your smartphone's app store.
- Open the app and register an account if you don't have one.
- Add the camera by searching for local devices or manually entering its serial number and network details.
- Enter the camera's username (admin) and password (admin123, or your changed password).
- Once added, you can view the live feed and manage settings.

Figure 4: TSEYE App and VMS View. This image shows the user interface of the TSEYE smartphone application and the VMS software for Windows, demonstrating how to view camera feeds.
3.5 Connecting to an NVR (Network Video Recorder)
The camera is compatible with NVRs that support ONVIF protocol.
- Your NVR must support 5MP resolution to display the camera's full quality.
- If your NVR does not support 5MP or H.265, you may need to change the camera's resolution to 1080P (2MP) and encoding to H.264 via the web interface to ensure compatibility.
- Refer to your NVR's manual for instructions on adding IP cameras via ONVIF.
4. Operation
4.1 Live View and Playback
Once connected via browser, smartphone app, or NVR, you can access the live video feed. Playback functionality allows you to review recorded footage.
4.2 Adjusting the Manual Zoom Lens
The camera features a 2.8-12mm manual zoom lens. You can adjust the lens to achieve your desired field of view and focus.
- A smaller lens setting (e.g., 2.8mm) provides a wider visual range but a shorter viewing distance.
- A larger lens setting (e.g., 12mm) provides a narrower visual range but a longer viewing distance.
Rotate the lens adjustment rings on the camera body to change the zoom and focus until the image is clear and covers the desired area.

Figure 5: Zoom Function. This image demonstrates how adjusting the 2.8-12mm lens affects the field of view, showing examples from wide to narrow perspectives.
4.3 Motion Detection and Email Alarm
The camera supports motion detection and can send email alarms upon detection.
- Access the camera's configuration settings via the web interface or app.
- Navigate to the "Alarm" section.
- Enable "Motion Detection" and configure the detection area and sensitivity as needed.
- Set up email notification parameters to receive alerts.

Figure 6: Motion Detection Notification. This image shows a smartphone displaying an alarm notification triggered by motion detection from the camera.
4.4 Video Encoding (H.265/H.264)
The camera supports both H.265 and H.264 video compression formats.
- H.265: Offers higher compression efficiency, requiring approximately half the bandwidth and storage compared to H.264 for the same video quality.
- You can switch between H.265 and H.264 in the camera's configuration settings to match your NVR or storage requirements.
4.5 Resolution and Frame Rate
The camera provides 5.0 Megapixel (2880x1620P) resolution at 20 frames per second (fps).

Figure 7: Resolution Comparison. This image visually compares the detail captured by 1080P (2MP) and 5MP (2880x1620P) resolutions, demonstrating the enhanced clarity of 5MP.
4.6 Day and Night Vision
The camera is designed for indoor surveillance and can capture images in varying light conditions.

Figure 8: Day and Night View. This image shows a side-by-side comparison of the camera's view during daytime and nighttime, illustrating its low-light performance.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
To maintain optimal performance, periodically clean the camera lens and body. Use a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by a dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
5.2 Environmental Conditions
Ensure the camera operates within its specified environmental limits:
- Operating Temperature: -25°C to 60°C (-13°F to 140°F)
- Operating Humidity: 10% to 90% (non-condensing)
Avoid exposing the camera to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight for prolonged periods, or high humidity, as this can affect its lifespan and performance. The camera is not water resistant.
5.3 Security Best Practices
Regularly update your camera's password to a strong, unique combination. If available, check the manufacturer's website for firmware updates to ensure your camera has the latest security patches and features.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your camera, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Camera not connecting to the network:
The camera defaults to a static IP address (192.168.1.108). If your network uses a different IP range, you may need to temporarily change your computer's IP address to the 192.168.1.x range to access the camera's web interface and configure it for DHCP or a static IP within your network's range. Alternatively, use the IP search tool provided by the manufacturer (often found via a QR code in the manual or on the manufacturer's support page). - No video or poor video quality on NVR:
Ensure your NVR supports 5MP resolution. If not, access the camera's web interface and lower its resolution to 1080P (2MP) and/or change the encoding to H.264 to match your NVR's capabilities. Verify the NVR is configured to add IP cameras via ONVIF. - Camera feels hot:
Due to its mini size and metal casing, it is normal for the camera to feel warm during operation. This does not indicate a malfunction. - Cannot log into the camera:
Ensure you are using the correct username (default: admin) and password (default: admin123). If you have changed the password and forgotten it, refer to the manufacturer's support resources for password reset procedures. - Motion detection not working:
Check the motion detection settings in the camera's web interface or app. Ensure the detection area is correctly defined and sensitivity is adjusted appropriately. Verify that email alarm settings are correctly configured if you expect notifications. - Web interface issues (e.g., settings not saving, overlays):
Ensure you are using a compatible browser. Some advanced features or specific browser versions might have compatibility issues. Try clearing your browser cache or using a different browser.
