1. Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the FINTIE Type Cover Wireless Bluetooth Keyboard with Trackpad. This accessory is designed to enhance the functionality of your 13-inch Microsoft Surface Pro 10, Surface Pro 9 (5G), Surface Pro 8, and Surface Pro X tablets, offering a laptop-like typing experience.

The keyboard features an ultra-thin, portable, and detachable design, incorporating Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity and a built-in rechargeable battery.

3. Setup

3.1 Charging the Keyboard

Before initial use, fully charge the keyboard. This helps in maintaining battery health and ensures optimal performance.

  1. Locate the USB charging port on the keyboard.
  2. Connect the provided USB charging cable to the keyboard's charging port.
  3. Connect the other end of the USB cable to a USB power source (e.g., computer, USB wall adapter).
  4. The charging indicator light will illuminate. Once fully charged, the light may change color or turn off, depending on the model.

A full charge provides approximately 240 hours of uninterrupted work time and up to 180 days of standby time.

3.2 Bluetooth Pairing

To connect the keyboard to your Microsoft Surface Pro tablet:

  1. Ensure the keyboard is charged and powered on. Look for a power switch, usually on the side or top edge of the keyboard.
  2. On your Microsoft Surface Pro, go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices.
  3. Turn on Bluetooth.
  4. Put the keyboard into pairing mode. This usually involves pressing a dedicated Bluetooth pairing button or a key combination (e.g., Fn + C or a Bluetooth icon key). Refer to the keyboard's specific key layout for the pairing button. The indicator light on the keyboard will typically flash to show it's in pairing mode.
  5. On your Surface Pro, select Add device > Bluetooth.
  6. Select "FINTIE Keyboard" or a similar name from the list of available devices.
  7. Follow any on-screen prompts to complete the pairing process. Once paired, the indicator light on the keyboard will stop flashing.

The keyboard utilizes Bluetooth 5.1 technology, providing a stable connection up to 33 feet (10 meters).

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Typing Experience

The keyboard features slightly spread-out keys and scissor-switch mechanisms, designed for a comfortable and efficient typing experience similar to a traditional laptop keyboard. Each key is built to sustain up to 3 million keypresses.

4.2 Trackpad Usage

The built-in two-button trackpad allows for precise navigation and control of your tablet without needing to touch the screen. It functions similarly to a mouse.

  • Single Tap: Left-click.
  • Two-Finger Tap: Right-click.
  • Two-Finger Scroll: Scroll up or down.
  • Pinch to Zoom: Use two fingers to zoom in or out.

Note: The trackpad may not function optimally if the keyboard is placed on an uneven surface.

4.3 Battery Level Check

To quickly check the current battery level of your keyboard, press the Fn + X key combination.

4.4 Dual-Angle Adjustment

The keyboard can be attached to your Surface Pro tablet to provide two different typing angles, allowing you to choose the most comfortable position for your work or viewing needs. The magnetic attachment stripe ensures a secure connection.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the keyboard surface. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the keyboard in a dry, cool place. Avoid extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge it regularly, and if storing for an extended period, ensure it has a partial charge.
  • Protection: The keyboard features an anti-slip microfiber soft surface on the back, offering some protection. However, avoid dropping or subjecting the keyboard to excessive force.

6. Troubleshooting
