5. Setup Guide

5.1. Powering On

  1. Connect the provided power adapter to the mixer's 5V DC input.
  2. Plug the power adapter into a suitable power outlet. The mixer can also be powered by a computer USB port, power bank, or car charging power supply.
  3. Press the POWER button to turn on the mixer.

5.2. Connecting Audio Devices

The mixer supports various input types:

  • Microphones: Connect dynamic microphones via XLR or 1/4" jacks. For condenser microphones, connect via XLR and activate the +48V PHANTOM POWER switch.
  • Instruments: Connect instruments like guitars or keyboards to the 1/4" LINE inputs.
  • External Audio Sources: Use the 5/6 stereo input (RCA or 1/4" jacks) for devices like CD players or media players.

5.3. Connecting to PC/MAC for Recording

The mixer functions as an audio interface for your computer.

  1. Ensure the mixer is powered on.
  2. Connect the mixer to your PC or MAC using a USB cable.
  3. On the mixer, dial the button on the back of the BMG-06F to the "PC" end.
  4. Your computer should automatically recognize the mixer as an audio device (e.g., "JiaLi BR21"). No specific driver installation is typically required.
  5. Select the mixer as your input device in your recording software (e.g., Audacity, GarageBand).

5.4. Connecting to Mobile for Live Broadcasting

The mixer is designed for mobile live streaming and recording. Note that required cables and adapter plugs are not included and must be purchased separately.

  • Use an appropriate OTG converter cable (e.g., USB to 3.5mm, USB to Type-C, USB to Lightning) to connect the mixer's USB port to your mobile phone.
  • Ensure your mobile device recognizes the mixer as an external audio input.
  • Open your live streaming or recording application and select the mixer as the audio input source.

6. Operation

6.1. Basic Mixing

  • Gain Adjustment (TRIM): Adjust the TRIM knob for each channel to achieve an optimal input level. The PEAK LED should only flash occasionally.
  • Equalization (HIGH/LOW): Use the HIGH and LOW knobs to shape the tone of each input. Turn clockwise to boost frequencies, counter-clockwise to cut.
  • Channel Level (LEVEL): Adjust the LEVEL knob for each channel to control its volume in the main mix.
  • Main Output Level (MAIN OUT): Control the overall volume of the mix using the MAIN OUT level knob.
  • Headphone Monitoring (PHONES): Connect headphones to the PHONES jack and adjust the PHONES level knob for monitoring.

6.2. Bluetooth Connectivity

Connect your smartphone, tablet, or computer wirelessly to the mixer.

  1. Press the BT button on the mixer to activate Bluetooth pairing mode. The display will show "BT".
  2. On your mobile device, search for Bluetooth devices and select "BOMGE MIXER" (or similar).
  3. Once paired, you can stream audio from your device to the mixer.
  4. Use the dedicated controls on the mixer (e.g., play/pause, skip songs) for media playback.

6.3. Using DSP Effects

The mixer includes 24 built-in digital signal processing (DSP) effects.

  • Effect Selection: Use the DSP knob to cycle through the 24 available effects. The selected effect number will be displayed.
  • Effect Parameter Adjustment: Use the PARAMETER knob to adjust specific parameters of the selected effect (e.g., delay time, reverb decay).
  • Applying Effects to Channels: Use the EFF knob on each input channel to send a portion of that channel's signal to the DSP effects processor.

6.4. USB Playback and Recording

The USB port allows for direct playback from a USB drive and recording to it.

  • USB Playback: Insert a USB drive containing audio files into the USB port. The mixer will automatically detect and begin playback. Use the transport controls (play/pause, next/previous) on the mixer.
  • USB Recording: Press the REC button to start recording the main mix directly to the inserted USB drive. Press REC again to stop.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the mixer. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
  • Storage: Store the mixer in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Cable Management: Ensure cables are not kinked or strained to prevent damage to the connectors and ports.

8. Troubleshooting
