3. Setup Guide

3.1 Initial Setup

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging: the mixer unit, power adapter, power cord/cable, and this manual.
  2. Power Connection: Connect the power adapter to the mixer's 5V power input and then plug it into a suitable power source (wall outlet, computer USB, power bank, or car charger).
  3. Placement: Place the mixer on a stable, flat surface, ensuring adequate ventilation.

3.2 Connecting Audio Devices

The BOMGE mixer supports a variety of audio input and output devices. Ensure all connections are secure before powering on the mixer or connected devices.

  • Microphones (XLR/1/4" Combo Jacks): Connect dynamic or condenser microphones to channels 1-4 using XLR or 1/4" cables. Activate 48V Phantom Power for condenser microphones by pressing the +48V button if required.
  • Musical Instruments (1/4" Line Input): Connect instruments like guitars or keyboards to the 1/4" line inputs on channels 1-4.
  • Stereo Input (RCA/1/4" Jacks): Use the 5/6 stereo input for devices like CD players, media players, or other stereo audio sources.
  • USB Audio: Connect the mixer to a computer (PC/MAC) via the USB port for audio input/output and recording.
  • Bluetooth: Pair your mobile device (phone, tablet) with the mixer via Bluetooth for wireless audio streaming.
  • Outputs (XLR/1/4" Jacks): Connect your main speakers or amplifiers to the LEFT OUT and RIGHT OUT XLR or 1/4" balanced/unbalanced jacks.
  • Headphones: Plug headphones into the PHONES jack for monitoring.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Channel Controls

Each input channel (1-4 and 5/6) has dedicated controls:

  • TRIM: Adjusts the input gain for the connected device. Start with this low and increase gradually to avoid clipping.
  • HIGH: Controls the high-frequency (treble) equalization for the channel.
  • LOW: Controls the low-frequency (bass) equalization for the channel.
  • EFF: Sends the channel's signal to the internal DSP effects processor.
  • PEAK/LEVEL: The PEAK LED indicates when the signal is too high (clipping). Adjust TRIM to prevent this. The LEVEL knob controls the overall volume of the channel sent to the main mix.

4.2 DSP Effects

The mixer includes 24 built-in DSP effects. Use the DSP section controls to select and apply effects:

  • DSP Knob: Rotate to select from the 24 available effects. The selected effect number will be displayed.
  • PARAMETER Knob: Adjusts the intensity or specific parameter of the selected DSP effect.
  • EFF Send: Use the EFF knobs on individual channels to send their signal to the DSP processor.

4.3 Recording to PC/Mobile

The mixer can be used as an audio interface for recording to computers and mobile devices.

Recording to PC:

  1. Connect the mixer to your PC/MAC using a USB cable.
  2. Ensure the switch on the back of the BMG-06F is set to the "PC" end.
  3. The computer should recognize the device (e.g., "JiaLi BR21") without needing additional drivers.
  4. Open your preferred recording software and select the mixer as the audio input device.
  5. Adjust levels on the mixer and in your software, then begin recording.

Recording/Live Streaming to Mobile:

Only a USB cable and an OTG converter (not included) are needed to connect the mixer to your phone.

  • Connect the mixer's USB output to an OTG converter.
  • Connect the OTG converter to your mobile phone (USB-C, Lightning, or 3.5mm depending on your phone and converter).
  • Open your recording or live streaming application on your phone. The mixer's audio will be routed to the app.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the mixer. Avoid using liquid cleaners or solvents, which can damage the finish or internal components.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the mixer in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Cable Management: Keep cables organized and untangled to prevent damage to connectors and ports.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the mixer's ventilation openings are not blocked during operation to prevent overheating.
