4. Setup
4.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove all packaging materials. Check the machine for any damage. Keep packaging for future transport if needed.
4.2 Initial Cleaning
- Wash the water tank, portafilter, filter baskets, and drip tray with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
- Wipe the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.
4.3 Filling the Water Tank
- Remove the water tank from the back of the machine.
- Fill the tank with fresh, cold water up to the MAX level indicator. Do not use hot water or other liquids.
- Place the water tank back into the machine, ensuring it is securely seated.
4.4 First Use / Priming
Before brewing coffee, prime the machine to fill the internal system with water.
- Ensure the water tank is filled.
- Place a cup under the portafilter outlet (without coffee).
- Press the power button to turn on the machine. The indicator lights will flash as the machine heats up.
- Once the lights are solid, press the single espresso button. Let water run through until the cup is full. Repeat this process 2-3 times.
- Turn the steam knob to release steam for 10-15 seconds to prime the steam wand. Close the knob.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Making Espresso
- Ensure the machine is on and preheated (indicator lights solid).
- Insert the desired filter basket (single or double shot) into the portafilter.
- Add ground coffee to the filter basket. For a single shot, use approximately 7g; for a double, use 14g. Tamp the coffee evenly.
- Attach the portafilter to the brew head by aligning it and turning it firmly to the right.
- Place one or two cups on the drip tray under the portafilter spouts.
- Press the single or double espresso button. The machine will automatically dispense the programmed amount of espresso.
- Once brewing is complete, remove the portafilter and discard the used coffee grounds.

5.2 Using Coffee Pods
- Use the specific filter basket designed for coffee pods.
- Place one coffee pod into the filter basket.
- Follow steps 4-7 from the 'Making Espresso' section.
5.3 Frothing Milk
- Fill a pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) to about one-third full.
- Ensure the machine is preheated and the steam function is ready (steam indicator light solid).
- Position the steam wand into the milk, just below the surface.
- Turn the steam knob to release steam. Move the pitcher up and down to create foam.
- Once desired foam and temperature are reached, turn off the steam knob.
- Immediately wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying.
6. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your espresso machine.
6.1 Daily Cleaning
- Portafilter and Filter Baskets: After each use, remove coffee grounds and rinse with warm water.
- Drip Tray: Empty and clean the drip tray and grid daily.
- Steam Wand: Wipe immediately after frothing milk. Periodically remove the nozzle and clean any milk residue with a small brush.
- Water Tank: Rinse the water tank daily and refill with fresh water.
6.2 Descaling
Descale the machine every 2-3 months, or more frequently if you have hard water, to prevent mineral buildup.
- Prepare a descaling solution according to the descaler manufacturer's instructions.
- Fill the water tank with the descaling solution.
- Place a large container under the brew head and steam wand.
- Turn on the machine. Once heated, run half of the solution through the brew head by pressing the espresso button.
- Then, open the steam knob and let the remaining solution run through the steam wand.
- After the tank is empty, rinse the water tank thoroughly and fill it with fresh water.
- Repeat steps 4-5 with fresh water to rinse the machine.
