Setup and Assembly

Before first use, sterilize all parts that come into contact with breast milk (milk collection cup, breast shield, flange inserts, valve, diaphragm, linker) by boiling for 3-5 minutes or using a steam sterilizer. Ensure all parts are completely dry before assembly.

  1. Assemble the Valve and Diaphragm: Place the silicone diaphragm onto the linker. Then, firmly press the valve into the bottom of the linker.
  2. Attach Linker Kit to Pump Motor: Insert the assembled linker kit (with diaphragm and valve) into the designated slot on the pump motor unit. Ensure it is securely fitted.
  3. Connect Milk Collection Bottle: Hold the milk collection bottle at approximately a 45-degree angle to the pump motor. Align the hole of the bottle with the groove on the linker, then gently twist the bottle to the left until it is securely tightened.
  4. Insert Breast Shield: Aim the 25mm breast shield at the notch on the linker and press it firmly into place.
  5. Add Flange Insert (Optional): If a smaller flange size is required, gently press the 17mm or 21mm silicone flange insert into the assembled breast shield. Ensure it sits flush and securely.

Operating Instructions

The HORIGEN Wearable Breast Pump features two modes and five suction levels to customize your pumping experience.

  1. Power On: Long press the power button (usually the central button with a power symbol) to turn on the pump. It will automatically start in Stimulation Mode.
  2. Adjust Suction Level: In Stimulation Mode, press the "+" or "-" buttons to adjust the suction intensity. There are 5 levels available.
  3. Switch Modes: After 2 minutes in Stimulation Mode, the pump will automatically switch to Expression Mode. You can also manually switch between Stimulation and Expression modes at any time by pressing the mode switch button (often indicated by a wave or water droplet symbol).
  4. Pause/Resume: Short press the power button to pause the pumping session. Press it again to resume.
  5. Power Off: Long press the power button for 2 seconds to turn off the pump.

Understanding Modes

  • Stimulation Mode: Fast and shallow suction to stimulate milk let-down and production.
  • Expression Mode: Slow and deep suction for comfortable and efficient milk expression.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Proper cleaning and maintenance are crucial for the hygiene and longevity of your breast pump.

Disassembly

Carefully disassemble all parts that come into contact with breast milk: the milk collection cup, breast shield, flange inserts, valve, diaphragm, and linker.

Cleaning

  • Rinse all disassembled parts immediately after each use with cold water to remove milk residue.
  • Wash parts with warm, soapy water using a soft brush. Ensure all milk residue is removed from crevices.
  • Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
  • Air dry on a clean drying rack or use a clean cloth. Avoid direct sunlight or high heat.
  • The pump motor unit should be wiped clean with a damp cloth only. Do not submerge it in water.

Sterilization

  • Sterilize all milk-contact parts at least once a day.
  • Methods include boiling (3-5 minutes), steam sterilization, or UV sterilization. Refer to the sterilizer's instructions for specific guidelines.

Storing Milk

After pumping, you can tighten the lid of the storage bottle (integrated with the collection cup) and place it directly into the refrigerator for storage.

  • Check the valve and diaphragm for tears or damage; replace if necessary.
  • Charge the pump fully.
  • Ensure the correct flange size is used for a proper seal.
Milk Leakage
  • Milk collection cup not tightened.
  • Anti-backflow system compromised.
  • Overfilling the collection cup.
  • Ensure the milk collection cup is securely twisted onto the pump motor.
  • Check the diaphragm and valve for proper placement or damage.
  • Do not exceed the maximum fill line (150ml) of the collection cup.
Pump Not Turning On
  • Battery depleted.
  • Power button not pressed long enough.
  • Charge the pump for at least 2 hours.
  • Long press the power button for 2 seconds to turn on.
Discomfort During Pumping
  • Suction level too high.
  • Incorrect flange size.
  • Improper positioning.
