Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to set up your ORIA Digital Refrigerator Thermometer:

  1. Install Batteries in Main Unit: The main display unit requires 3 x AAA batteries (not included). Open the battery compartment on the back of the unit and insert the batteries, observing the correct polarity.
  2. Install Batteries in Sensors: Each remote sensor requires 2 x AAA batteries (not included). Open the battery compartment on each sensor and insert the batteries, observing the correct polarity.
  3. Power On and Pairing:
    • Turn on the main unit. A flashing frozen and signal icon indicates it is searching for sensor signals.
    • For each sensor, install the battery and then press its TX button for instant signal transmission. The main unit should display the sensor's temperature upon receiving the signal. Allow approximately 30 seconds for initial detection.
  4. Placement: The main unit can be placed on a desktop using its integrated stand or mounted on a wall using the hang hole. The remote sensors can be hung inside the refrigerator or freezer using their detachable hooks or placed on a shelf. Ensure sensors are placed where they will not be submerged in water.

Operating Instructions

Understand the various functions of your thermometer for optimal use:

Display Overview

The 3.7-inch LCD screen provides clear information at a glance:

  • Freezer Temperature: Displays the current temperature from the freezer sensor.
  • Refrigerator Temperature: Displays the current temperature from the refrigerator sensor.
  • MAX/MIN Values: Shows the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded for both freezer and refrigerator.
  • Alarm Icons: Indicates if an alarm is active for either zone.

Temperature Unit Switching (℃/℉)

To switch between Celsius (℃) and Fahrenheit (℉), short press the ℃/℉ button located on the main unit.

MAX/MIN Value Records

The thermometer stores the maximum and minimum temperature values for both the refrigerator and freezer. You can view records for the last 24 hours (default) or all time. Short press the CLE key to switch between these two modes.

Temperature Alarm Function

The device features an alarm that activates if the temperature in either the refrigerator or freezer deviates from your set range for more than 2 minutes.

  • Alarm Activation: When the temperature is outside the set range for over 2 minutes, the thermometer will beep.
  • Alarm Indication: The beeping will stop after 2 minutes, but the temperature value, MAX/MIN icon, and alarm icon will continue to flash until the alarm is manually turned off.
  • Setting Alarm Range:
    • Refrigeration Mode: 0℃ to 15℃ (32℉ to 59℉)
    • Freezing Mode: 0℃ to -40℃ (32℉ to -40℉)
  • Important Note: When used for the first time or every time the alarm is turned off, it needs to be manually activated again for the alarm function to take effect.

Transmission Distance

The wireless sensors can transmit data to the main unit up to 262 feet (80 meters) in an open area. Obstacles like walls and appliances may reduce this range.

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and accuracy of your ORIA Digital Refrigerator Thermometer, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Wipe the main unit and sensors with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the units in water.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries in the main unit (3 x AAA) and sensors (2 x AAA each) when the display becomes dim or readings become inconsistent. Always use fresh, high-quality alkaline batteries.
  • Storage: If storing the thermometer for an extended period, remove all batteries to prevent leakage. Store in a cool, dry place.
  • Environmental Considerations: While sensors are designed for refrigerator/freezer environments, avoid direct contact with liquids or extreme condensation to prevent damage.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your thermometer, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Main unit not displaying sensor temperatures or showing '---'Sensors not paired, out of range, or low battery.
  • Ensure fresh batteries are installed correctly in both the main unit and sensors.
  • Press the TX button on each sensor to re-transmit the signal.
  • Move sensors closer to the main unit to improve signal strength.
  • If initial setup, allow 30 seconds or more for sensors to register.
Alarm is not sounding or is too quietAlarm function not reactivated or volume setting.
  • After initial setup or turning off the alarm, ensure it is manually reactivated.
  • Check the user manual for specific alarm volume settings if available (not explicitly mentioned in product data, but a common feature).
  • Ensure the main unit is placed in an area where the alarm can be heard.
Inaccurate temperature readingsSensor placement, interference, or low battery.
  • Ensure sensors are not in direct contact with cold surfaces or food items that might skew readings.
  • Replace batteries in sensors.
  • Avoid placing sensors near vents or areas with rapid temperature fluctuations.
