5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

The device requires one 9V battery for operation.

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the main unit.
  2. Use the provided screwdriver to open the battery cover.
  3. Insert a new 9V battery, ensuring correct polarity.
  4. Replace the battery cover and secure it with the screw.

5.2 Sensor Connection

Connect the telescopic wind velocity sensor to the main unit:

  1. Align the connector of the sensor cable with the port on the main unit.
  2. Gently push the connector into the port until it is securely seated.
  3. The sensor is extensible; carefully extend it to the desired length for measurement.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Power On/Off

Press the POWER ON/OFF button to turn the anemometer on or off. The device features an auto power-off function after 5 minutes of inactivity, which can be canceled if needed (refer to the full manual for cancellation steps).

6.2 Measuring Wind Speed and Air Temperature

  1. Ensure the sensor is connected and extended into the airflow.
  2. The display will show real-time wind speed and air temperature.
  3. Press the Units Switchable button to cycle through wind speed units: m/s, km/h, ft/min, knots, mph.
  4. Press the ℃/℉ Switchable button to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit for temperature.

6.3 Measuring Wind Volume (CFM)

  1. Press the Wind Speed/Air Volume button to enter CFM mode.
  2. You may need to input the cross-sectional area of the duct or opening using the SAMPLE AREA and Confirm Input Area buttons for accurate volume calculations.
  3. The display will show the calculated air volume in CFM or CMM.

6.4 Data Hold Function

During measurement, press the HOLD key to freeze the current reading on the display. Press HOLD again to return to live measurement mode.

6.5 Backlight Control

Press the Backlight ON/OFF button to toggle the display backlight for improved visibility in low-light conditions.
