1. Important Safety Instructions
Please read all instructions carefully before using the Braun CareStyle 3 Pro steam generator iron. Keep this manual for future reference.

3. Setup
Follow these steps to set up your steam generator iron for first use:
- Fill the Water Tank: Remove the water tank from the base unit. Fill it with tap water up to the 'MAX' line. Distilled water can be used in areas with very hard water, but it is not strictly necessary. Reinsert the water tank securely into the base unit.
- Place the Iron: Place the iron securely on its designated rest on the base unit.
- Connect Power: Unwind the power cord completely and plug it into a grounded electrical outlet.
- Initial Heating: Press the power button. The iron will begin to heat up. This may take a few minutes. The indicator light will stop flashing when the iron is ready for use.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Selecting Ironing Mode
The CareStyle 3 Pro offers various modes for optimal ironing results on different fabrics:
- iCare Mode: The default setting, safe for all ironable fabrics. Provides the perfect temperature and steam combination.
- Eco Mode: Saves energy while still providing excellent results, suitable for delicate fabrics.
- Turbo Mode: For tough wrinkles and thicker fabrics, providing maximum steam output and higher temperature.
Press the 'Mode' button on the control panel to cycle through these settings.
4.2 Steam Ironing
- Ensure the water tank is filled and the iron is heated to the desired mode.
- Press the steam button located under the handle to release steam. For continuous steam, hold the button down.
- Move the iron smoothly over the fabric.
4.3 Steam Boost Function
For stubborn creases or vertical steaming, use the Steam Boost function. Double-press the steam button quickly to activate a powerful burst of steam.

5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning the Soleplate
To maintain optimal gliding performance, clean the soleplate regularly:
- Ensure the iron is unplugged and completely cool.
- Wipe the soleplate with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive liquid cleaner.
- Do not use abrasive pads, vinegar, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the soleplate.
5.2 Descaling (CalcClean System)
The CareStyle 3 Pro features a CalcClean system to prevent limescale buildup. The 'CalcClean' indicator light will illuminate when descaling is required.
- Ensure the water tank is empty.
- Place the iron on the CalcClean tray (if provided, or a suitable heat-resistant container).
- Press and hold the 'CalcClean' button for a few seconds until the process starts.
- The iron will automatically perform the descaling cycle, which may take several minutes. A beeping sound and steam will be emitted.
- Once complete, the iron will beep, and the CalcClean light will turn off. Empty any remaining water from the CalcClean tray.
5.3 Storage
After use, unplug the iron and allow it to cool completely. Empty the water tank. Store the iron securely on its base unit, ensuring the steam hose and power cord are neatly wrapped.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Braun CareStyle 3 Pro, refer to the table below for common problems and solutions:
