5. Setup

5.1. Initial Power On

  1. Connect the external power adapter to the laptop's power input port and then to a power outlet.
  2. Open the laptop lid.
  3. Press the power button located on the keyboard deck.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the initial Windows 10 Home (S Mode) setup, including language selection, network connection, and user account creation.

5.2. Windows 10 Home in S Mode

Your laptop comes with Windows 10 Home in S Mode, which is designed for security and performance by exclusively using apps from the Microsoft Store. If you need to install apps from outside the Microsoft Store, you can switch out of S Mode. This is a one-way switch and cannot be undone.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Connecting to Wi-Fi

  1. Click the Wi-Fi icon in the taskbar (usually bottom-right).
  2. Select your desired Wi-Fi network from the list.
  3. Click 'Connect' and enter the network password if prompted.

6.2. Using Bluetooth Devices

  1. Go to 'Settings' > 'Devices' > 'Bluetooth & other devices'.
  2. Ensure Bluetooth is turned 'On'.
  3. Put your Bluetooth device into pairing mode.
  4. Click 'Add Bluetooth or other device' and select 'Bluetooth'.
  5. Choose your device from the list and follow any on-screen prompts.

The integrated webcam allows for video calls and online meetings. You can access it through applications like Camera, Microsoft Teams, or Zoom.

7.1. Cleaning Your Laptop

  • Screen: Use a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for electronics. For stubborn smudges, lightly dampen the cloth with water or a screen cleaner.
  • Keyboard and Touchpad: Use a soft brush or compressed air to remove dust and debris. For surface cleaning, a slightly damp cloth can be used, ensuring no liquid enters the gaps. The keyboard and touchpad have water resistance up to 200 cc.
  • Casing: Wipe with a soft, dry cloth.

7.2. Battery Care

  • To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.
  • If storing the laptop for an extended period, ensure the battery is charged to about 50-70%.
  • Avoid operating the laptop in extremely hot or cold environments.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your laptop, refer to the following common solutions:

  • Laptop does not power on:
    • Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the laptop and a working power outlet.
    • Check if the power outlet is functional by plugging in another device.
    • If the battery is completely drained, allow it to charge for a few minutes before attempting to power on.
  • No Wi-Fi connection:
    • Verify that Wi-Fi is enabled in Windows settings.
    • Restart your router and modem.
    • Ensure you are within range of the Wi-Fi network.
    • Try forgetting the network and reconnecting.
  • Slow performance:
    • Close unnecessary applications running in the background.
    • Check for available Windows updates and install them.
    • Ensure your SSD has sufficient free space.

  • Screen issues (no display, flickering):
