This image displays the PROZOR 192kHz DAC from both the front and rear. The front panel features a volume control knob, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and L/R RCA stereo outputs. The rear panel includes a DC 5V power input, an optical input, and a coaxial input.

Front Panel:

  • Volume Control Knob: Adjusts the output volume for both 3.5mm and RCA interfaces.
  • 3.5mm Headphone Jack: Connects to headphones or other 3.5mm audio devices.
  • RCA L/R Output: Connects to stereo amplifiers, receivers, or active speakers.

Rear Panel:

  • DC 5V Power Input: Connects to the provided USB power cable and a 5V USB power adapter (not included).
  • Optical Input (Toslink): Connects to digital audio sources via an optical cable.
  • Coaxial Input: Connects to digital audio sources via a coaxial cable.

5. Setup Instructions

  1. Connect Power: Connect the provided USB power cable to the DC 5V input on the DAC. Plug the other end of the USB cable into a 5V USB power adapter (e.g., phone charger, TV USB port) and then into a power outlet. The Power LED on the DAC will illuminate.
  2. Connect Digital Audio Input: Choose either an optical (Toslink) cable or a coaxial cable to connect your digital audio source (e.g., TV, Blu-ray player, game console) to the corresponding input port on the DAC.
  3. Connect Analog Audio Output:
    • For RCA output: Connect RCA L/R cables from the DAC's RCA output ports to your amplifier, receiver, or active speakers.
    • For 3.5mm headphone output: Connect your headphones or a 3.5mm audio cable to the 3.5mm jack on the DAC.
  4. Configure Audio Source: Ensure your digital audio source (e.g., TV, media player) is set to output audio in PCM format for stereo output, or Dolby AC-3/DTS for decoding. If you experience no sound, verify the audio output settings on your source device.
  5. Adjust Volume: Turn the volume control knob on the DAC to your desired listening level.

This diagram illustrates typical connection scenarios for the PROZOR DAC. Digital audio sources such as TV boxes, Blu-ray players, game consoles, and HDTVs can connect to the DAC's optical or coaxial inputs. The DAC then outputs analog audio to RCA audio systems or 3.5mm headphones, powered via a 5V 1A adapter.

6. Operating Instructions

Volume Control:

The PROZOR DAC features a dedicated volume control knob on the front panel. Rotate the knob clockwise to increase the volume and counter-clockwise to decrease it. This control affects both the 3.5mm headphone output and the L/R RCA stereo outputs simultaneously.

Audio Format Support:

This DAC supports decoding of Dolby AC-3 and DTS 5.1CH digital audio signals. When these formats are detected, the DAC will process them and output stereo analog audio. For optimal performance, ensure your source device's audio output settings are correctly configured to either PCM (for standard stereo) or Bitstream/Raw (for Dolby AC-3/DTS decoding).

7. Maintenance

  • Keep the device in a dry environment, away from moisture and direct sunlight.
  • Clean the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
  • Avoid blocking ventilation openings to prevent overheating.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the device yourself. Refer to qualified personnel for service.

8. Troubleshooting

ProblemSolution
No sound output.
  • Ensure all cables are securely connected.
  • Verify the DAC is powered on (Power LED is lit).
  • Check the volume level on the DAC and your connected audio system.
  • Confirm the audio output format on your source device is set to PCM, Dolby AC-3, or DTS. Some TVs may require setting to 'External Speaker' or 'Optical Out'.
  • Try a different optical/coaxial cable.
Distorted or noisy audio.
  • Ensure the power adapter provides stable 5V.
  • Check for loose cable connections.
  • Reduce the volume on the source device if it's too high, causing clipping.
  • Ensure the optical/coaxial cable is not bent or damaged.
DAC not decoding Dolby AC-3/DTS.
  • Ensure your source device's audio output is set to Bitstream, Raw, or Dolby/DTS output, not PCM.
  • Some streaming apps or content may not provide Dolby/DTS audio via optical/coaxial output.
