Setup

1. Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge your shaver. Connect the charging cable to the shaver and plug it into a power outlet. The battery indicator lights will show the charging progress. A full charge typically takes approximately 1 hour and provides up to 60 minutes of shaving time.

2. Attaching Accessories

Your shaver may come with a pop-up trimmer. To use it, simply push the trimmer release button located on the back of the shaver. Ensure it clicks into place securely.

Operating Instructions

1. Powering On/Off

Press the power button located on the front of the shaver to turn it on or off.

2. Shaving Technique

For optimal results, hold the shaver at a right angle to your skin and move it in circular motions. Apply gentle pressure. The 360-D Flexing heads are designed to follow the contours of your face for a close and comfortable shave.

3. Wet and Dry Use

The Philips Series 5000 shaver is suitable for both dry shaving and wet shaving with foam or gel. It can also be used in the shower.

4. Using the Pop-Up Trimmer

The integrated pop-up trimmer is ideal for shaping sideburns, moustaches, and beards. Activate it by sliding the switch upwards. Use short, controlled strokes for precise trimming.

Maintenance

1. Daily Cleaning

After each use, rinse the shaver head under warm running water. Open the shaver head by pressing the release button and rinse the hair chamber thoroughly. This helps maintain optimal shaving performance and hygiene.

2. Deep Cleaning

For a more thorough cleaning, detach the shaving unit from the shaver body. Clean the individual shaving heads and the hair guard with the provided cleaning brush or rinse them under water. Allow all parts to air dry completely before reassembling.

3. Replacing Shaving Heads

For continued optimal performance, it is recommended to replace the shaving heads every 12 months. Replacement heads are available from authorized Philips retailers or online. Refer to the model number S5588/20 for compatible parts.
