3. Setup and First Use

3.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove all packaging materials. Check that all accessories are present: portafilter, measuring spoon, and two filters (for 1 and 2 cups).

3.2 Water Tank Installation and Filling

  1. Remove the water tank from the back of the machine.
  2. Fill the tank with fresh, cold water up to the MAX level indicator.
  3. Place the water tank back into its position, ensuring it is securely seated.

3.3 Initial Rinse Cycle

Before first use, perform an initial rinse cycle to clean the internal components.

  1. Ensure the water tank is filled.
  2. Place a large container under the portafilter and steam wand.
  3. Turn on the machine using the On/Off switch.
  4. Once the indicator light shows the machine is ready, run hot water through the portafilter without coffee, and also through the steam wand.
  5. Repeat this process a few times.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Making Espresso

  1. Ensure the machine is preheated (indicator light solid).
  2. Insert the desired filter (1 or 2 cups) into the portafilter.
  3. Add finely ground coffee to the filter. Use the measuring spoon for accurate dosage.
  4. Tamp the coffee evenly.
  5. Attach the portafilter to the brewing head and lock it into place.
  6. Place your cup(s) on the drip tray.
  7. Select the desired coffee button (single or double espresso).
  8. The machine will automatically brew the coffee.

4.2 Using the Steam Wand for Milk Frothing

  1. Fill a pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy).
  2. Turn the control knob to the steam function. Wait for the steam indicator light to illuminate.
  3. Submerge the steam wand tip just below the surface of the milk.
  4. Open the steam valve slowly to release steam.
  5. Move the pitcher up and down to create foam.
  6. Once desired foam is achieved, close the steam valve and turn the control knob back to the standby position.
  7. Wipe the steam wand immediately with a damp cloth.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

5.1 Daily Cleaning

  • Empty and clean the drip tray after each use.
  • Remove and rinse the portafilter and filter basket.
  • Wipe down the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.
  • Clean the steam wand immediately after frothing milk to prevent blockages.

5.2 Descaling

The "DESCALING" indicator light will illuminate when descaling is required. Descaling should be performed regularly to maintain machine performance and longevity.

  1. Prepare a descaling solution according to the descaler manufacturer's instructions.
  2. Fill the water tank with the descaling solution.
  3. Place a large container under the portafilter and steam wand.

  5. After descaling, rinse the machine thoroughly by running several tanks of fresh water through it.
