3. Assembly and Setup
3.1 Attaching the Guard
- Align the guard with the mounting points on the trimmer head.
- Secure the guard using the provided fasteners. Ensure it is firmly attached to prevent accidental detachment during operation.
3.2 Adjusting the Auxiliary Handle
- Loosen the auxiliary handle knob.
- Slide the handle to a comfortable position that allows for balanced operation.
- Tighten the knob securely.
3.3 Adjusting the Telescopic Shaft
- Locate the shaft adjustment collar.
- Twist the collar to unlock the shaft.
- Extend or retract the shaft to your desired length for optimal comfort and reach.
- Twist the collar back to lock the shaft firmly in place.
3.4 Battery Installation
This trimmer requires an EGO 56V ARC Lithium™ battery (sold separately). Ensure the battery is fully charged before use.
- Align the ribs on the battery with the grooves in the trimmer's battery port.
- Slide the battery into the port until it clicks securely into place.
- To remove, press the battery release button and pull the battery out.

3.5 Loading Trimmer Line (POWERLOAD™ Technology)
The POWERLOAD™ system makes line replacement simple and quick.
- Ensure the trimmer is turned off and the battery is removed.
- Cut a length of 0.095-inch professional-grade spiral-twist line (approximately 14 feet).
- Feed one end of the line through the eyelet on the trimmer head until it comes out the opposite eyelet.
- Pull the line through until both ends extending from the head are roughly equal in length.
- Insert the battery.
- Press and hold the POWERLOAD™ button on the trimmer head. The trimmer will automatically wind the line into the spool.
- Release the button once the line is fully wound, leaving approximately 5-6 inches extending from each side.

4. Operation
4.1 Starting and Stopping the Trimmer
- Ensure the battery is securely installed.
- To start, press the safety lock-off button and then squeeze the trigger.
- To stop, release the trigger.
4.2 Digital 2-Speed Selector
The trimmer features a digital 2-speed selector for varying power needs.
- Low Speed: Ideal for light trimming and extending battery run time.
- High Speed: Provides maximum power for tougher weeds and dense grass.
Press the speed selector button to toggle between low and high speeds.

4.3 LINE IQ™ Automatic Line Feed
The LINE IQ™ technology automatically senses and feeds the trimmer line as needed, eliminating the need to bump the head on the ground. This ensures a consistent cutting swath and uninterrupted operation.

4.4 Trimming Techniques
- Sweeping Motion: Use a side-to-side sweeping motion to cut grass and weeds.
- Edging: Tilt the trimmer head to a vertical position to create clean edges along sidewalks and driveways.
- Around Obstacles: Use caution when trimming around trees, fences, and other obstacles to avoid damaging the trimmer line or the objects.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your trimmer.
5.1 Cleaning
- Always remove the battery before cleaning.
- Use a dry cloth to wipe down the exterior of the trimmer.
- Remove any grass clippings or debris from the guard and trimmer head. A small brush can be used for hard-to-reach areas.
- Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
5.2 Trimmer Line Replacement
When the trimmer line runs out, replace it using the POWERLOAD™ technology as described in Section 3.5. Use only 0.095-inch professional-grade spiral-twist line.
5.3 Storage
- Remove the battery from the trimmer before storing.
- Clean the trimmer thoroughly.
- Store the trimmer in a dry, well-ventilated area, out of reach of children.
- Avoid storing in direct sunlight or areas with extreme temperatures.
