3. Setup Instructions
3.1. Battery Installation
The DieseRC KT17 remote control comes with a 12V 27A battery pre-installed. If replacement is needed, follow these steps:
- Locate the small screw or latch on the back or side of the remote control.

3.2. Pairing with a Receiver
The KT17 transmitter uses a 1527 learning code and must be paired with a compatible DieseRC 1527 learning code receiver. It cannot clone other remote controls. Refer to your DieseRC receiver's instruction manual for specific pairing steps. Generally, the process involves:
- Ensure the receiver is powered on.
- Press the "Learn" button on your DieseRC 1527 learning code receiver. The receiver's indicator light will typically illuminate or flash.
- Within a few seconds, press any button (A, B, C, or D) on your KT17 remote control.
- The receiver's indicator light should change (e.g., turn off, flash differently) to confirm successful pairing.
- Repeat the process for additional buttons if your receiver supports multiple channels or modes.
Important Note: This remote control is not programmable and can only be matched with 1527 learning code receivers. It cannot be used to duplicate signals from other remote controls.
4. Operating Instructions
Once successfully paired with a compatible DieseRC 1527 learning code receiver, the KT17 remote control is ready for use.
- Button Functionality: Each of the four buttons (A, B, C, D) can be assigned to control a specific function or device on your receiver. The exact function of each button depends on how it was programmed during the pairing process with your receiver.
- Activation: Press and hold the desired button briefly to send a signal to the paired receiver. The indicator light on the remote will illuminate when a signal is being transmitted.
- Range: Maintain a distance within 30 meters (approximately 100 feet) from the receiver for optimal performance. While the signal can pass through obstacles, heavy interference or very thick barriers may reduce the effective range.

5. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the remote control with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the casing or internal components.
- Battery Replacement: Replace the 12V 27A battery when the remote's indicator light becomes dim or the operating range decreases significantly. Refer to Section 3.1 for battery installation instructions.
- Storage: Store the remote control in a dry place, away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight, when not in use for extended periods.
6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Remote does not respond. | Low or dead battery. | Replace the 12V 27A battery (see Section 3.1). |
| Remote does not respond. | Not paired with receiver or pairing lost. | Re-pair the remote with the receiver (see Section 3.2). |
| Short operating range. | Weak battery. Obstacles or interference. | Replace battery. Reduce obstacles between remote and receiver. Ensure no strong RF interference sources nearby. |
| Remote cannot control other devices. | Incompatible receiver or attempt to clone another remote. | Ensure the receiver is a DieseRC 1527 learning code type. This remote cannot clone other remotes. |
