1. Product Overview

The SHAHE Digital Angle Gauge, Model 5315-90C, is a precision instrument designed for accurate angle measurement. It features a magnetic base for secure attachment to metal surfaces, a clear backlight display, and functions for holding measurements and setting a relative zero point. This device is suitable for various applications including carpentry, construction, machinery, and automotive tasks.

2. Setup and Battery Installation

Battery Installation:

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the device.
  2. Use the provided screwdriver to open the battery cover.
  3. Insert two 1.5V AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Replace the battery cover and secure it with the screwdriver.

Device Components:

Familiarize yourself with the device's buttons and display:

  • ON/OFF Button: Powers the device on or off.
  • HOLD / Tilt% Button: Short press to hold the current reading. Long press to switch between angle (degrees) and slope (percentage) display units.
  • ZERO Button: Sets the current surface as the relative zero point. Also activates/deactivates backlight with a short press.
  • Magnetic Base: Located on the bottom for secure attachment to metal surfaces.

3. Operating Instructions

Power On/Off:

Press the ON/OFF button to turn the device on. Press it again to turn it off. The device will automatically power off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery life.

Absolute Measurement:

Place the angle gauge on a horizontal reference surface. The display will show the absolute angle relative to true horizontal (0.00°).

Relative Measurement (ZERO Function):

  1. Place the angle gauge on the desired reference surface.
  2. Press the ZERO button. The display will reset to 0.00°, indicating that this surface is now the relative zero.
  3. Move the gauge to measure the angle of another surface relative to your set zero.
  4. To exit relative measurement mode, press the ZERO button again.

HOLD Function:

To freeze the current measurement on the display, short press the HOLD / Tilt% button. The "HOLD" indicator will appear on the screen. Press the button again to release the hold and resume live measurement.

Unit Conversion (Degrees/Slope):

Long press the HOLD / Tilt% button to switch the display unit between degrees (°) and slope percentage (%).

Backlight Control:

Short press the ZERO button to toggle the backlight on or off. The backlight improves visibility in low-light conditions.

Automatic Display Inversion:

When the device is inverted, the display automatically rotates to ensure the numbers are always upright and readable.

The magnetic base allows for hands-free operation on various metal surfaces, making it ideal for setting angles on:

4. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the angle gauge in its original packaging or a protective case when not in use to prevent damage. Keep it in a dry environment, away from extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display or if the device fails to power on. Always use two new 1.5V AAA alkaline batteries.
  • Avoid Impact: Protect the device from drops or strong impacts, as this can affect its accuracy and functionality.

5. Troubleshooting
