Setup

Follow these steps to set up your PTZ camera for initial use.

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify that all items listed in "What's in the Box" are present.
  2. Mounting: The camera supports wall mounting. Use the provided camera mounting bracket to securely install the camera in your desired location. Ensure the mounting surface is stable and can support the camera's weight.
  3. Power Connection: Connect the power adapter to the camera's DC12V input port and then plug the power cable into a suitable power outlet.
  4. Video Output Connection:
    • HDMI Output: Connect an HDMI cable from the camera's HDMI port to your display or video switcher.
    • IP/NDI Output: Connect an Ethernet cable from the camera's NDI/IP port to your network switch or router. This enables NDI|HX streaming and IP control.
  5. Audio Input (Optional): If external audio is required, connect an audio source to the "Line in" port.
  6. Control Connections (Optional): For RS232 control, connect appropriate cables to the IN-RS232-OUT ports.

Operating Instructions

This section details the basic operation of the PTZ-NDI-X18B camera.

Powering On/Off

Once connected to power, the camera will automatically power on. To power off, disconnect the power cable.

Pan, Tilt, and Zoom (PTZ) Control

The camera features pan, tilt, and 18x optical zoom capabilities. Control can be achieved via the included remote control or through NDI|HX protocol over the network.

  • Remote Control: Use the directional buttons on the remote to pan and tilt the camera. Use the zoom buttons to adjust the 18x optical zoom.
  • NDI|HX Control: Connect the camera to an NDI-compatible network. Use NDI-enabled software or hardware controllers to remotely control pan, tilt, and zoom functions with low latency.

Video Output

The camera provides simultaneous IP and HDMI outputs. This allows for flexible integration into various production workflows.

  • HDMI: Provides a direct Full HD video feed to a monitor or switcher.
  • NDI|HX: Streams Full HD video and audio over your network with low latency, compatible with NDI-enabled devices and software.

Image Quality Features

The camera utilizes a Full HD Progressive Scan sensor and an advanced digital image processor to deliver sharp, vivid images. It also includes a motion-compensated temporal noise reduction filter for clear video even in challenging lighting conditions.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your camera.

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera body. For the lens, use a specialized lens cleaning cloth and solution. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Firmware Updates: Periodically check the AIDA Imaging website for firmware updates. Keeping the firmware current can improve performance and add new features.
  • Environmental Conditions: Operate the camera within recommended temperature and humidity ranges. Avoid exposing the camera to extreme temperatures, moisture, or dust.

Troubleshooting

  • No Power:
    • Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the camera and a working power outlet.

  • No Video Output (HDMI):

    • Ensure the display is set to the correct input source.
  • No Video Output (NDI/IP):
    • Verify the Ethernet cable is securely connected and the network is active.

  • PTZ Control Not Responding:
