1. Introduction
The SAMSUNG HW-Q700B 3.1.2ch Soundbar is designed to enhance your audio experience with immersive surround sound. Featuring Wireless Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and advanced sound technologies like Q-Symphony and SpaceFit Sound, this soundbar delivers dynamic and optimized audio for movies, music, and gaming. This manual provides essential information for setting up, operating, and maintaining your soundbar system.

2. What's in the Box
Carefully unpack your soundbar system and ensure all components are present:
- SAMSUNG HW-Q700B Soundbar
- Wireless Subwoofer
- Remote Controller
- Remote Control Batteries (AAA x 2)
- HDMI Cable
- Power Cords (for Soundbar and Subwoofer)

3. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps to set up your SAMSUNG HW-Q700B Soundbar for optimal performance.
3.1 Connecting the Subwoofer
The wireless subwoofer automatically connects to the soundbar when both are powered on. If the connection is not established, manually pair them:
- Place the subwoofer in your desired location, ensuring it is within range of the soundbar.
- Connect the subwoofer's power cord to an electrical outlet.
- If the blue LED indicator on the subwoofer is not solid, press the ID SET button on the back of the subwoofer with a pointed object for 5-6 seconds until the indicator blinks quickly.
- With the soundbar powered off, press and hold the Up button on the soundbar's remote control for 5-6 seconds.
- The soundbar display will show 'ID SET' and then 'PAIRING'. Once connected, the subwoofer's blue LED will become solid.
3.2 Connecting to your TV
You can connect your soundbar to your TV using an HDMI cable (recommended for Dolby Atmos) or wirelessly via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.
HDMI eARC Connection (Recommended)
For the best audio quality, especially with Dolby Atmos, use an HDMI cable to connect to your TV's HDMI eARC/ARC port.
- Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI OUT (TV-eARC/ARC) port on the soundbar.
- Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI IN (eARC/ARC) port on your TV.
- Turn on the soundbar and TV. Ensure the TV's audio output is set to HDMI ARC/eARC.

Wireless Connection (Bluetooth/Wi-Fi)
For wireless audio, you can connect via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi connection offers higher quality audio and SmartThings app control.
- Bluetooth: Press the PAIR button on the remote or the Source button on the soundbar until 'BT PAIRING' appears. On your TV, navigate to Sound Output settings and select your soundbar from the Bluetooth Speaker List.
- Wi-Fi (SmartThings App): Download and open the SmartThings app on your smartphone. Ensure your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your TV. The app should detect the soundbar. Follow the on-screen prompts to connect and register your soundbar.

3.3 Wall Mounting (Optional)
If you wish to wall-mount your soundbar, use the provided wall mount kit and follow these general steps:
- Determine the optimal mounting position below your TV.
- Use the wall mount guide (template) to mark the screw positions on the wall.
- Drill pilot holes and insert the wall anchors (if necessary).
- Attach the wall mount brackets to the soundbar using the provided screws.
- Securely mount the soundbar to the wall using the appropriate screws.
4. Operating Instructions
Control your soundbar using the included remote, the SmartThings app, or voice commands.
4.1 Remote Control Functions
The remote control allows you to power on/off, adjust volume, change input sources, and select sound modes.
- Power (Red Button): Turns the soundbar on or off.
- Source (Square with arrow): Cycles through input sources (HDMI, BT, Wi-Fi, D.IN).
- Volume (+/-): Adjusts the main volume level.
- Woofer (+/-): Adjusts the subwoofer volume level.
- Sound Mode: Selects different sound modes (Standard, Surround, Game Pro, Adaptive Sound).
- Mute: Mutes or unmutes the sound.

4.2 Voice Control
The soundbar has built-in voice assistant capabilities (e.g., Alexa) for hands-free control. Ensure your soundbar is connected to your home network and the voice assistant is configured through the SmartThings app.

5.7 AirPlay 2 & Tap Sound

6. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your soundbar, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the surfaces of the soundbar and subwoofer. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
- Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation around the soundbar and subwoofer to prevent overheating. Do not block any ventilation openings.
- Placement: Avoid placing the soundbar or subwoofer in direct sunlight, near heat sources, or in areas with high humidity.
- Firmware Updates: Periodically check for firmware updates through the SmartThings app or Samsung's official website to ensure your device has the latest features and bug fixes.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your soundbar, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
- No Power: Ensure both the soundbar and subwoofer are properly plugged into working power outlets. Check the power cords for any damage.
- No Sound:
- Verify the correct input source is selected on the soundbar.
- Check the volume levels on both the soundbar and your TV.
- If using HDMI ARC/eARC, ensure your TV's audio output is set to HDMI ARC/eARC and the HDMI cable is securely connected.
- If using Bluetooth/Wi-Fi, ensure the connection is active and stable.
- Subwoofer Not Connecting: Refer to Section 3.1 for manual subwoofer pairing instructions.
- Sound Distortion: Try reducing the volume. Check for any physical obstructions around the speakers. Ensure the sound mode is appropriate for the content.
- Remote Control Not Working: Check the remote control batteries and replace them if necessary. Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the soundbar.
- Audio/Video Sync Issues: Some TVs or source devices may have audio delay settings that can be adjusted to synchronize audio and video.
