Installation Steps

  1. Mounting: Securely mount the GRB8-01 onto a standard DIN rail.
  2. Power Supply Connection: Connect the AC 110V-240V power supply to the designated L and N terminals on the device.
  3. Light Sensor Connection: Connect the external light detection sensor to the appropriate terminals (IN) as indicated on the device. Ensure the sensor is placed where it can accurately measure ambient light without obstruction.
  4. Load Connection: Connect the lighting load (e.g., lamps) to the output terminals (3 and 4) of the relay.
  5. Secure Connections: Ensure all wire connections are tight and secure using a screwdriver. The device features tunnel terminals for reliable connections.

Operating Instructions

The GRB8-01 offers three operating modes: ON, AUTO, and OFF, and allows for adjustable light sensitivity.

Mode Selection

  • ON Mode: In this mode, the connected lighting load will remain continuously ON, regardless of ambient light conditions. The green LED indicates power is supplied, and the red LED indicates the relay is active.
  • OFF Mode: In this mode, the connected lighting load will remain continuously OFF. The green LED indicates power is supplied, and the red LED indicates the relay is inactive.
  • AUTO Mode: This is the automatic control mode. The device will switch the lighting load ON or OFF based on the ambient light intensity detected by the sensor and the set sensitivity level.

Adjusting Light Sensitivity

In AUTO mode, you can adjust the light sensitivity (illumination range 1-100Lx) using the knob on the front panel. This determines the ambient light level at which the relay will switch the load. The device has a 2-minute action delay time to prevent rapid switching due to momentary light fluctuations.

  1. Ensure the device is powered on.
  2. Set the mode switch to AUTO.
  3. Turn the adjustment knob (marked with a sun/moon icon) to set the desired light sensitivity. Turning it towards the sun icon will require more light to turn off, and turning it towards the moon icon will require less light to turn off.
  4. Test the setting by simulating the desired light conditions. The load will switch ON/OFF after the 2-minute delay once the external light reaches your set adjustment value.

Maintenance

The GEYA GRB8-01 is designed for reliable operation with minimal maintenance. However, regular checks can ensure its longevity and optimal performance.

  • Cleaning: Periodically clean the exterior of the device and the light sensor with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Connection Check: Annually, or as needed, inspect all wiring connections to ensure they remain secure and free from corrosion.
  • Sensor Placement: Ensure the light sensor remains unobstructed and clean to guarantee accurate light detection.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your GEYA GRB8-01, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • Device Not Powering On (No Green LED):
    • Check the main power supply to the device.
    • Verify that the L and N terminals are correctly wired and secure.
    • Ensure the supply voltage is within the AC 110V-240V range.
  • Load Not Switching (No Red LED Change):
    • Confirm the device is set to AUTO mode.
    • Check the light sensor connection and ensure it is not damaged or obstructed.
    • Verify the light sensitivity setting. Adjust the knob to a different level and observe if the load switches after the 2-minute delay.
    • Ensure the load itself (e.g., light bulb) is functional.
    • Check the load wiring to terminals 3 and 4.
  • Frequent Switching:
    • This is usually prevented by the 2-minute delay. If it occurs, check for flickering light sources near the sensor or rapid changes in ambient light.
    • Ensure the sensor is not exposed to direct, intermittent light (e.g., car headlights).

If problems persist after following these steps, please contact GEYA customer support for further assistance.
