5. Setup and First Use
- Unpacking: Remove all packaging materials, including any protective films or stickers from the appliance and accessories.
- Placement: Place the appliance on a stable, heat-resistant, and level surface. Ensure there is adequate clearance (at least 4-6 inches) on all sides and above the unit for proper ventilation. Do not place it near flammable materials.
- Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wipe the interior and exterior of the appliance with a damp cloth. Wash all accessories (air fry basket, wire rack, baking tray, drip/crumb tray, rotisserie cage, rotisserie fork, handle) with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
- First Burn-Off: To eliminate any manufacturing odors, operate the appliance empty for approximately 15-20 minutes at 400°F (200°C) in Air Fry mode. Ensure the area is well-ventilated during this process. A slight odor or smoke is normal during initial use.
- Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded 120V AC electrical outlet.
6. Operating Instructions
The Equator AF 500 features an intuitive LCD touch display and knob controls for easy operation.
Control Panel Overview
The control panel consists of two rotary knobs and a central LCD display with touch buttons for various functions.
- Left Knob (TEMP/TIME): Used to adjust temperature and time settings.
- Right Knob (FUNCTION/START/STOP): Used to select cooking functions and to start or stop the cooking process.
- LCD Display: Shows selected function, temperature, time, and other indicators.
- Function Buttons: Dedicated buttons for Air Fry, Oven, Light, and Rotate (for rotisserie).

General Operation
- Power On: Plug the appliance into a power outlet. The display will illuminate.
- Select Function: Turn the right knob (FUNCTION) to cycle through the available cooking modes (Air Fry, Convection, Pizza, Grill, Dehydrator) or select one of the 15 pre-set cooking functions by touching the corresponding icon on the LCD display.
- Adjust Temperature and Time: Once a function is selected, use the left knob (TEMP/TIME) to adjust the desired temperature and cooking time. Press the TEMP or TIME button next to the knob to toggle between adjusting temperature and time.

- Interior Light: Press the LIGHT button to illuminate the interior of the oven. The light automatically activates for 30 seconds when the door is opened.

7. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your appliance.
- Before Cleaning: Always unplug the appliance from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they may damage the stainless steel finish.
- Interior: Wipe the interior walls with a damp cloth and mild detergent. For stubborn food residue, a non-abrasive sponge can be used. Avoid spraying water directly into the oven.
- Heating Elements: The heating elements are located at the top and bottom of the oven. Do not attempt to clean the top heating elements directly, as this can be difficult and may cause damage. For the bottom element, ensure it is cool before gently wiping around it.
- Drip/Crumb Tray: Remove and empty the drip/crumb tray after each use. Wash it with warm, soapy water, rinse, and dry thoroughly.
- Accessories: All included accessories (air fry basket, wire rack, baking tray, rotisserie cage, rotisserie fork, handle) should be washed by hand with warm, soapy water. Do not wash these accessories in a dishwasher, as this may cause damage or discoloration. Rinse and dry completely before storing or re-using.
- Storage: Ensure the appliance is clean and dry before storing. Store it in a cool, dry place.
