4. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps for proper installation and initial setup. Professional installation is recommended.
4.1 Physical Installation
- Prepare the Installation Site: Ensure power is off at the circuit breaker. Securely mount the fan bracket to a ceiling joist or a fan-rated outlet box.
- Assemble the Fan: Attach the fan blades to the motor housing. The plywood blades are designed for durability and lightweight performance.

Note: If a longer downrod is required for high or sloped ceilings, specialized Carro downrods are available online from various retailers. Standard hardware store downrods may not be compatible due to different diameters.
4.2 Remote Control Pairing
To pair the remote control with your fan:
- Within 1 minute of powering the fan, press and hold the fan speed button (fan icon with 3 blades) for 3 seconds.
- A successful pairing will trigger the lamp to turn off.

4.3 Smart App & Voice Assistant Setup
The SMAFAN Apex fan can be controlled via the Carrohome App and integrated with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and Siri Shortcut.
- Download App: Download the "Carrohome" App from your smartphone's app store.
- Connect to Wi-Fi: For Wi-Fi troubleshooting, press and hold the fan speed button (fan icon with 3 blades) for 5 seconds. The fan will switch to AP mode. Follow the instructions in the app to enable fan Wi-Fi.
- Integrate Voice Assistants: Follow the instructions within the Carrohome App to link your fan with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, or Siri Shortcut.
