Introduction

The EIZO FlexScan EV2490-BK is a 23.8-inch monitor designed for enhanced connectivity and user comfort. It features a 1920 x 1080 resolution IPS panel with anti-glare properties, aiming to reduce eye strain during prolonged use.

This monitor simplifies your workspace by allowing a single USB Type-C cable connection to your laptop for video display, audio playback, power delivery (up to 70W), USB device connectivity, and wired network access. It also supports daisy chain functionality, enabling easy multi-monitor setups by connecting monitors to each other via the EV2490-BK.

Setup

Follow these steps to set up your EIZO FlexScan EV2490-BK monitor.

1. Unpacking and Assembly

• Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
• Assemble the stand according to the included quick setup guide.
• Attach the monitor panel to the assembled stand.

2. Connecting to Your Computer

The EV2490-BK offers versatile connectivity options, including USB Type-C, HDMI, and DisplayPort.

• USB Type-C Connection: For laptops with a USB Type-C port, connect a single USB Type-C cable from your laptop to the monitor's USB Type-C (In) port. This cable will transmit video, audio, data, and power (up to 70W) to your laptop.

• HDMI/DisplayPort Connection: Alternatively, connect an HDMI cable from your computer's HDMI output to the monitor's HDMI input, or a DisplayPort cable from your computer's DisplayPort output to the monitor's DisplayPort input.
• USB Hub Connection: To utilize the monitor's integrated USB hub for connecting peripherals (e.g., keyboard, mouse), connect a USB Type-B cable from your computer to the monitor's USB Type-B port.
• LAN Connection: For a stable wired network connection, connect an Ethernet cable from your router or network switch to the monitor's LAN port. Your connected laptop can then access the network through the monitor via the USB Type-C connection.

3. Daisy Chain Setup (Multi-Monitor)

The EV2490-BK supports daisy chaining, allowing you to connect multiple monitors in series using USB Type-C.

• Connect your primary computer to the first EV2490-BK monitor via USB Type-C (In).
• Connect a USB Type-C cable from the first monitor's USB Type-C (Out) port to the second monitor's USB Type-C (In) port. Repeat for additional monitors.

Operating Instructions

Power On/Off

• Press the power button located on the front bezel to turn the monitor on or off.

On-Screen Display (OSD) Menu

The OSD menu allows you to adjust various monitor settings such as brightness, contrast, color, input selection, and eye-care features. Navigate the OSD using the control buttons on the front bezel.

• Brightness Adjustment: Adjust the screen brightness to your preferred level.
• Color Mode: Select from various color modes optimized for different content types.
• Input Selection: Manually switch between USB Type-C, HDMI, and DisplayPort inputs if auto-detection is not desired.

Eye Reduction Features

The FlexScan EV2490-BK includes features designed to reduce eye strain:

• Auto EcoView: Automatically adjusts screen brightness to ambient light conditions.
• Paper Mode: Reduces blue light emission to simulate the appearance of paper, ideal for reading documents.

• No Image on Screen:
  • Ensure the power cable is securely connected to both the monitor and the power outlet.
  • Verify that the video cable (USB Type-C, HDMI, or DisplayPort) is securely connected to both the monitor and your computer.
  • Check if the correct input source is selected on the monitor's OSD menu.
  • Restart your computer.
• No Sound:
  • Ensure the audio output from your computer is directed to the monitor.
  • Check the volume settings on both the monitor and your computer.
  • If using USB Type-C, ensure your computer's USB Type-C port supports audio output.
• Network Connection Issues (via Monitor LAN):
  • Verify the Ethernet cable is securely connected to the monitor's LAN port and your network device.
  • Ensure your computer's network settings are configured to obtain an IP address automatically (DHCP).
  • Check if the USB Type-C connection between the monitor and your computer is active.
