4. Getting Started (Setup)

4.1 Installing Batteries

1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the main unit.
2. Insert the 4 AA batteries according to the polarity indications (+/-) inside the compartment.
3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

4.2 Attaching the Cuff

1. Insert the air plug of the cuff into the air jack on the left side of the main unit until it clicks.
2. Ensure the cuff is securely connected.

4.3 Initial Bluetooth Pairing (Omron Connect App)

The Omron HEM 7156 T features Bluetooth connectivity to transfer your measurements to the Omron Connect app. This allows for easy tracking and sharing of your health data.

1. Download the "Omron Connect" app from your smartphone's app store (available on Google Play and Apple App Store).
2. Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone.
3. Follow the in-app instructions to pair your Omron HEM 7156 T monitor. The app will guide you through the process, often involving scanning a QR code or selecting your device from a list.

5. Taking a Measurement (Operation)

5.1 Proper Cuff Placement (Intelli Wrap Cuff)

The 360° accuracy Intelli Wrap Cuff ensures accurate measurements regardless of how it is positioned on the arm. It is suitable for arm circumferences between 22-42cm.

1. Sit comfortably with your back supported and feet flat on the floor.
2. Place your arm on a table so the cuff is at heart level.
3. Slide your arm through the cuff loop. The air tube should run down the inside of your arm.
4. Wrap the cuff firmly around your upper arm, ensuring it is snug but not too tight. The "OK" indicator on the display will confirm correct wrapping.

5.2 Starting the Measurement

1. Press the START/STOP button. The cuff will begin to inflate.
2. Remain still and silent during the measurement. Avoid talking or moving your arm.
3. Once the measurement is complete, the cuff will deflate, and your systolic, diastolic, and pulse readings will be displayed on the screen.

6. Understanding Your Results

6.1 Blood Pressure Indicators

• Hypertension Indicator: If your systolic blood pressure is 135 mmHg or higher, or your diastolic blood pressure is 85 mmHg or higher, the Hypertension Indicator will appear on the display.
• Irregular Heartbeat Detection: The device can detect irregular heartbeats during measurement. If an irregular heartbeat is detected, a symbol will appear on the display. Consult your physician if this symbol appears frequently.
• Body Movement Detection: If body movement is detected during the measurement, a symbol will appear, prompting you to retake the measurement for accuracy.
• Average of Last 3 Readings: The monitor can display the average of your last three readings taken within a 10-minute period.

7. Care and Maintenance

• Clean the monitor and cuff with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive or volatile cleaners.
• Do not wash the cuff or immerse the monitor in water.
• Store the device in the provided storage case in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
• Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
